Good Day Cann.com members! Anyways kinda 2 questions that I would REALLY APPRECIATE some advice from some comp. savy stoners!:rasta::hippy:

1. How "Good" is my laptop for playing and installing new comp games? Here are the details: 1 GB Ram, 1 proccessing core, 64 bit capable, 93 GB of total disk space, 54 of which are free. Display type- Radeon Xpress 200 M series, 383 MB of total system memory, (128 dedicated to graphics), 1280X800 resolution, DirectX version=9.0 or better, PROCESSOR- AMD Turion(tm) 64 mobile technology ML-34. Laptop is HP DV 8000 running on windows vista home. WHEW... Good enough to run 1-2 modern comp games?!

2. I wanna find a game that is like Stronghold which is like you start with resources and you have to create structures which will in turn create weapons, soldiers, fortifications, etc. Not really picky on the genre, as long as its about fighting and killing things and involve some strategy and is pretty fun stoned lol.

Sorry for the long post but will def be gracious on some well deserved rep :D:D:D

ummm, oh yeah, the new Rise of Nations is pretty BA... look into it a lil bit, its tight as hell to play and most likely would work on your computer

Your computer should do well. As for games, try Age of Empires 3, Warcraft 3, Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars.

Thanks on that link man I was looking for the exact kind of test. Anyways, everything pretty much passes but my graphics card could use some upgrading I see to run some of the more graphicly challenging games. Is something like that expensive to upgrade and have someone install? Any recommendations? Thanks again ADM:thumbsup:

The video card on a laptop is integrated right into the motherboard, no matter how good or what kind it is, so it's not possible to upgrade just the video card. Sorry dude. What you could do is upgrade your RAM to around 2+ GB, that would help a lot.

Warcraft 3 is a timeless RTS, I keep coming back to load the game up again.

My favorite RTS is Supreme Commander, but it has a crazy system requirement and is very complicated.

oh yeah, i forgot to mention Warcraft 3, that game is ENDless, like he said above, so many different types of mini games can be created, played w/e. But on a laptop the integrated vid card would not be able to be upgraded. Laptops are really hard to work with.

Your laptop will run warcraft 3 without any problem at all.

Buy the expansion pack too: The Frozen Throne
