I don't care if another person is vegetarian or not, in fact my uncle and some cousins are vegetarians. What I hate with a passion is self-righteous groups like PETA who try to force people to do what THEY think is right. It's funny how they don't mind beating up humans or don't mind letting them live in total squalor, but as soon as a stupid fish is 'unhappy', they'll cry for people to save it.... Does that make sense?
PETA is the spawn of the devil, I tells ya!

Plants have been shown to have feelings too - PETA even acknowedges this in the FAQ section of their website, and yet PETA downplays it ... they ought to at least be consistant - if one shouldn't eat animals, one shouldn't eat plants either ...
Ancient sacrifice rituals seem totally rediculous on the face, but they are a reflection of reality - everyone and everything is sacrificed for another ... ie when one dies, their body will be consumed by bacteria, worms, insects, etc ... much of which will be directly and indirectly consumed by plants and animals, some of which will be consumed by other people ... and the cycle of life continues ...
The one thing I do agree with PETA on is that most farm animals should be kept in decent conditions while alive ...

peta is just trying to stop animal cruelty and does not try to force people to do whats right but just to let ignorant people know what happens in slaughter houses, dairy farms etc. and i'm not preaching. and peta treats animals and humans equaly. and i ain't saying you have to agree with me. peta don't beat up humans. peta belives ALL animals are equal, humans and non-humans alike. don't think i've ever typed that much in a post before :o . :( :(

I'm a vegetarian and I'm not a tight-ass person. That being said, I too am not a fan of PETA's holier-than-thou attitude, and do not agree that humans and animals are equal. For instance, I believe it is okay for people to kill animals for food or clothing but not to kill other people for the same reasons (well, actually I wouldn't object if the victim was a murderous psychopath or something).
Also, plants do not feel pain. Some plants have certain reactions to touch, but they do not have the brain or the consciousness to process what we call pain, so don't feel guilty next time you mow your lawn.
Plants have been shown to have feelings too - PETA even acknowedges this in the FAQ section of their website, and yet PETA downplays it ... they ought to at least be consistant - if one shouldn't eat animals, one shouldn't eat plants either ... I do not understand, plants having feelings ? Plants do not have a central nervous system, nerve endings, or a brain so therefore how can they possibly feel? I know for absoulute fact that plants do not feel pain and thats why PETA probably downplays these so called 'feelings' you talk about.
