I have a crappy 2 MG fuji. It takes macros but is a pain in the ass. I'm thinking I might get a cheap Canon. They're not rated the best but Canon has this super macro feature that takes real good bud porn. Anybody have suggestions?

Not too clued up on cameras, but i would look for somthing 5mega-pix or more, and obviosly with the macro as a selling point.

Best bet is to go go to a camera forum/review site to find one thats cheap and does good macro's

I do this for all electronics, if im looking for a TV, ill go to a tv forum and see what the falva of the month is, it will be full of people with expert advice for all budgets.

just put a post up saying my budget is xxxx and it needs to be a good all rounder with emphasis on good macro, sit back and wait for the resident know-all's to reccomend somthing.

My cousin has a Canon Powershot and it takes incredible macro shots. I don't remember the particular model, but I know he paid around $200 for it, I'd say $250 max.

The Kodak Z12 (http://www.amazon.com/Kodak-EasyShare-Digital-Optical-Stabilized/dp/B000NOQVQK/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1197341174&sr=8-1) is another relatively inexpensive camera that takes out-of-this-world macro photos. Here is an example of a photo taken with the Z12:
