Maybe I should make a poll..it would make it easier to see how much exercise we get..
I exercise pretty much everyday for work...with lots of walking and lifting..
I have started to hike more..going on another tonight..just short ones 3-4 miles..
overall though, I always try and get exercise 2-3 times a week..plus, I stretch a lot..it really stimulates my muscles:jointsmile:
How much do you get?
Forget it, I am not making a poll.

Haven't been to the gym in way too long, currently there's a lot of love there in my love handles. On a good note, I'm starting my normal workout regimen soon. It's usually 45 minutes treadmill/stationary bike, 45 minutes with weights/weight machines then 10 minute cool down. Then on off days I like to hit the pool at our highschool. But we have a ways to go though.

I envy you geo...I get about much exercise as a three-toed slouth.
It takes me 15 minutes to walk to or from class because my dorm is on the very edge of campus, and I make 20 of those trips in a week, so I walk for a total of 5 hours a week just by walking to classes which I guess isn't too bad. I also have a fast metabolism.

I exercise about 6 times a week, a variety of lifting weights, yoga, capoeira, hiking, and biking. I just love to.

I normally exercise five to six times a week, and I try and alternate concentrating on strength/weight training one day with cardio on alternate days. Some days I feel like doing both. Exercise is how I treat a touch of seasonal affective depression (when the days are short and dark), and it also gives me a wonderfully pleasant, completely legal high. I find it really helps my concentration and memory, too. The days I normally take off, if I do take a break, are Sundays and/or Mondays. About every six to eight weeks, I'll take off five days or so just to give my body a break. If I can't stand not doing something, I'll go to yoga or stretching class during that time off.
Well, does changing gear and operating a clutch count? haha!
I do abit of HEAVY lifting [gearboxes, engine spares] but hardly any because of my back. Apart from that, nothing at all really.
I want to start running and doing weights though - im already bloody strong from all the grafting i do at work [i was strong as a kid too, my dad was built like a brick shithouse and im bigger and stronger than him] but i dont think i've ever really excersised.

Well I go climbing 2-3 times a week, and both gyms have a small weight set-up, so in between climbs and such and I'll hit the weights.
This is the only way I can get out and exercise. I can never commit to just training, so I have to climb to make it fun. And lucky for me, I truly enjoy it.

I exercise cause of the way it makes me feel. All that other stuff about looks and health is just a bonus. Gimme them endorphins man. But unfortunately I hurt my shoulder and keep re-injuring the damn thing. I mostly lift. I need to get more cardio but I'm laying off everything till that damn shoulder gets better. Anything screws it up. That just sucks.
I just noticed, like 4 more posts and I'll have 666. Scary.

My gym membership expired two weeks ago; can't afford another membership until at least the spring. I'm bummed. I guess I'll have to start walking. I was really getting into the weight training, too. I can tell a huge difference in my legs and arms.
Any suggestions on how I can keep working out from home?

Never worked out at a gym, but I play tennis alot, yardwork, pushups, going on hikes when I get a chance and I used to do some construction.

I have never worked out in a gym either..it is all mostly just natural movement throughout the day that has helped keep me fit..I do like the pureness of fitness without the aid of machines or weights.

a true fitness purist... I've always been wondered by those running machines, I'm sure I could be on one of those all day long if only my stamina would hold up. I am more of a mind exerciser although lately I have fueled my impetus to exercise daily by keeping my body active with simple exercises such as walking, sit-ups, push ups, the classic elementary jumping jacks and tribal dances, I have begun practicing yoga as well... I've always thought that exercising the mind more than my body would be enough, nevertheless its satisfying but not as effective in keeping our vital energy balanced and sharped edged in fluidity. It's necessary to keep your mind and body exercised in a balanced manner not forgetting about one or the other in order to be optimized to the level of being tweaked in order to embark on your daily duties.
Remember Indica=laying on your ass all day long; Sativa=the opposite
