I took 50 from a Willie Nelson, over a period of about two weeks, no damage, no stress ... :jointsmile:

I'm not a pro, but the size of the mother might affect that quite a bit. something 2' tall versus something 4' tall would be a big difference.

That said I think 12-15 a week would be a good number to look at.

Since I have one strain that all came from the same mother Ill take 5-6 cuttings off from the clones before I move em' into the flowering room.Its a way of clearing up the lower bottom branches and with my diy aero cloner I have had a pretty fair success rate (45 out of 48 last time) with scrappy little cuttings that I wouldnt expect to make it in dirt.The clones were probably a bit over 15" to 18" tall before I moved em' into the other room.Hope that helps.Take care,be well,and most of all be safe.

I usually take 12 at a time, then choose the best 8 for my grow. Depends a lot on how big she is. It also depends on how healthy she is. If she's having problems you probably shouldn't be taking cuttings anyway, but if you do, it is more likely to stress the mom to the point of non return.

How long is a piece of string?

I take 4-6 at a time from a mother in a quart pot.

You can get dozens off a mom in a 5 gallon pail.

Don't take more than 1/3 the total foliage mass of the plant at any time.

I've never heard that "rule" before, but it seems like very good advice.

Another rule noted for the scrapbook in my brain.
