hey guys, i dont wanna be a dirtbag wen i grow up lol

I wanna go to university and shit and im currently 14 and have been smoking for about a year and i wanted to noe if like anyone here smokes alot of weed and is successful, i usually smoke a joint a day?
So im thinking i might quit cuz my life means more to me than getting high

I'm sixteen, I rocked the SATs, get mostly A's and B's in all my classes, and smoke regularly. Samples of my creative writing got me into a rich bastard's private school in Connecticut, and my music teacher puts more stock in my skill than in the rest of his students combined--even telling other teachers I could be the next Thelonious Monk. I spend 30 dollars a gram on a friend who supplies me with Blueberry Haze. I do that about every week.

I'm not in college yet, but I have every bit as much initiative as anyone you're likely to meet. I want to succeed, and if anything, weed opens up my creativity. It definitely doesn't hinder my drive.

i'm 16 and what i usually do is not to get high during school, usually after school if you dont have homework etc. unless you can work when your stoned like some people. I can personally do lots of stuff when I'm stoned easily. But try to keep it on the weekends...unless you have stoner friends like me that love coming over your house and smoking a dime out of your bong. But again don't do it before school or make it have any effect on your life whatsoever. Sometimes I get high around 6pm when I'm just sitting in my house bored, and watch half baked and fear and loathing in los vegas, and i get up the next morning feeling good and go to school. Just make sure your in control of your weed, and its not controlling you. :)

I'm 19. I smoke absurd amounts of weed. I get high for class, take tests high, do homework high, study high, and of course I spend my free time high (hey, it's college!). I was one of the smartest kids in my high school and easily aced it. On the PSATs I did perfectly on the math section. I also did very well on the SATs with a 1390 and currently study at one of the top public universities in the state, where I have attained a 3.9 GPA and gotten on the Dean's list in all my semesters here, allowing me to maintain my scholarship from the Honors program. Don't let anybody tell you you can't be a pothead and do well in life. So long as you put in enough effort, get your work done on time, and know how to discipline yourself, it doesn't matter how much you smoke. It is not a choice between your life and getting high. Getting high won't take your life from you; only you can take your life from you, and if you apply yourself you will have a successful life whether you smoke or not.

I smoke pot and I go to College and I think it's just fine. I mean I'm a lazy motherfucker when it comes to school but I always have beem, I just hate it. It's not really school that I hate though, it's pretty much homework. Luckily I'm a smart motherfucker as well, so I get by. I figurred that to do well you have to be smart and work hard. I'm just smart, I don't work hard, so I also figured that I'll do OK based on my attributes. Well I do just fine, for the most part. In college so far teachers have seen that I'm a smart person who has a lot of interest in the subjects at matter I think. I know I have to pick it up one day. I'll probably quit a couple of months before university, I'm just going to have to do that.

Whatever man, just keep smoking weed, staying smart and working hard. If you ever notice that you are losing track of your goals and think weed is the cause then you'll know to take a break.

To be honest success really doesnt bother me (Although i do attend one of my states top universities) as long as I'm enjoying my life I don't care and right now I'm loving life trying new things and smoking a lot of weed. Do what you enjoy, thats what I say!

Well, as long as you're happy, you've succeeded. That being said, I'll be happy when I'm living in New York City, at the apex of the American artistic culture. For those who don't know, living in New York costs a lot of money. I'll have to make some pretty substantial money if I want to be where I want to be. It's for that reason that I still work in school, and don't cut class to get stoned.

I do get stoned before class, but only during free periods. Heh.

I'm 21, working full time, making very decent money for my age more than most college grads fresh out of school make. Went to one year of college while working full-time, however I'm taking a hiatus because doing both is very hard and stressful. I'm now taking classes to get Microsoft Certified, then plan to go back to school full-time and quit my job. I been working full-time since I was 17 busting my ass to get where I am now, and this is not just smoking weed either, it's doing a lot of drugs period. However I been cutting down recently on everything and getting physically, mentally and spiritually healthly. The key is balance, but it might take experience to develop that balance. But most of all, it takes will and fight. Don't ever give in.

Welp this is what i think..... Im a senior in college about to graduate and goto Med-School and dudes..... i smoke everyday! I dont get totally blitzed every day but i smoke between 2-4 bowls and then get blazed on the weekends. See kids (Kyle,ermitonto,Thurgood,Dick Justice) keep tokin cause life is what you make it, if you really care about doing something with your life you wont let a little pot get in your way. I'll let you in on a secret... About the only negative "side effects" of hrb is 1) You get lazy. Sometimes not as much as others, but herb tends to make you lazy (there are exceptions, I'm talking in general though) 2) Weed will such up your money quick as fuck. No two ways about it 3) IF you get caught your record will go south real quick.

Anyways there is no reason that weed would necessarily prevent you from reaching a 'sucessful' position in life, indeed it is feasible it would help. But it can hurt your efforts. If your wary of the side effects, and responsible with your money you have nothing to worry about... Just don't get carried away ;)

Whoa, all you guys are in college? Me I got one of the highest practice ACT scores in my highschool. I don't know, I'm a lazy fucker in school, and you can tell by some of my posts that I'm a very good writer and speller. I'm just the type of person who does really well on tests, but is lazy when it comes to school assignments. My principle tried to get me into some special college course class, along with other high test scorers, but I refused because I didn't want to stay after school longer. Dumb mistake. I need to get my priorities straight. So, is college hard? Are the assignments tough? I'd say cannabis has made me a smarter person, if not uncovered some of my hidden potentials.

Sensi Super Skunk I'm a freshman in college and I think that it is just an extention of highschool except you have to have a lot more self motivation because basically your paying to go, you don't have to go, and if you don't care then your professor could give a fuck less if you fail out or not. You have to read a whole lot more then in highschool. (at least I do to understand concepts better that they go over in lecture) and you need to develop more time management skills.
Nobody is there to tell you to get up and go to class. Your mom won't be there and unless your rooming with your mom your roomates won't get you up. Unless of course they are drunk and it is 2:00 in the morning and they want you to see something "really cool"

I'm 20, but I'm only barely a sophmore... Because I drank myself out of school the first time... So I think I know a thing or two about fucking up (trying to learn as much about not fucking up now ;) ). Anyways, doing homework high is better than not doing it, but doing it straight is the best (it wont be as easy to do, or to focus, but you'll remember it better)... I'm gonna have to cut back to almost nothing though, because its starting to get tricky... Calculus 2 and Engineering Physics I this semmester, Calc 3 in the spring then the real fun starts next fall...

I'm 36 this year, and have been smoking pot 'properly' since I was about 27 (I know, late starter lmaoo).
My mind has evolved thanks to weed - I'm more creative, compassionate, understanding, and deeper thinking.
But this 'enlightenment' has made me frustrated, despondent, and unmotivated.
I wouldn't say that weed has impeded success, nor would I say that it has inspired success - but I agree with Buck - it has made me lazy, and I guess that most of the reasons connected with my current situation can be attributed to that lethargy.

im not gonna pretend like im sucessful, im not, it wasnt the pot that made me this way. I was diagnosed with bi polar disorder, im very immature, and very confused about life. I smoke a shitload of weed, and I go to yale. I am a senior studying international affairs and political science. I was just accepted to Yale Law School. It's what you make of it. Keep weed in its place, and never allow it to get a stranglehold over your life. Be a man, know your limits, plan everything, be confident and, most importantly, don't be pussy out. University is a lot of hard work, and Law school is going to be a bitch. There are times when I have to go without smoking pot for months at a time. I usually have to wait until spring break or weekends. If i'm taking really hard classes, I have to put in 50+ hours studying a week. Pot will distroy your grades if you use it all the time. Sre, I've been high as fuck in easy courses, but when it comes time to put up or get out, you have to make sacrifices.

Just think. You'll suffer a little, but when you're making six figures, you can smoke all the weed you want.

I'm in my second semester of college. I smoked multiple times just about every day and I got a 3.6 GPA. Since I'm not sure if they use that system in Europe, that translates into an A-, which is hardly a grade you'd expect a "stoner" to get. It's all propaganda, how they try to tell you that weed can affect your schoolwork. This is how it works- If you are motivated enough to do well in school, you will. Just manage your smoking responsibly and don't let it seriously cut into study time that you put aside for yourself. There's no secret to it; you just need to use your head.
