After reading a couple of posts, it seems to me that the term "kif" is being misused.
Kif, comes from the arabic word "kayf" meaning pleasure. It is also the name given to the Moroccan cannabis plant.
It is a small straggly plant, grown commercially for the purpose of making Hashish. Its a pretty shit plant. To make 1 kg of top Quality hash, they need 500 kg of kif.
It is much better to look for The Pakistani varieties, grown in more remote regions of the Rif Mountains. They can make 1kg of Ice-o-lator pure hashish, using around 250kg of plants.
Anyone looking for more info on the processes and different aspects of the hashish in the Rif, i'm your local expert.

I use the word kief for the trichomes in the bottom of a grinder. You're probably right, but I'm too lazy to look anything up.

I know the word "keif" as "scuff", which is trichomes from the plant matter, or very fine plant matter, mostly crystal/keif/scuff.
Loads of words get misused, the Americans confuse the fuck out of me with terminology sometimes :p

I know it as kiff/crystal/skuff/shake/pollen and to me and anyone else I know it means the trichomes.
