I LOVE his books! His best book is undoubtedly Faith of the Fallen. So good. The later ones can be a little too preachy at times though. I am actually rereading Wizard's First Rule right now. What's your fave one?

I read Wizards First Rule way back when I was like 13 years old. Nothing since then though.

I think Faith of the Fallen is my favorite too. I have read the whole series though and love it. Well all of the Sword of Truth series that is. some say that from Chainfire on is the conclusion of the Sword of Truth series. I have read Chainfire from that one. I have also read Dept of Bones. I want to reread the whole thing but start with Debt of Bones. The "final" book of the Chainfire series is due to be released in November which means it will probably be November of next year before my Library gets it, lol. The last time I checked they didnā??t have Phantom yet which is the second of the Chainfire series. I really got into this books and wish I had found them sooner.

Phantom is out. I haven't read it yet either, but my friend said it is excellent. I always think about Faith of the Fallen when I'm walking around, especially the part with the statue and all the people. Trying not to ruin it for anyone that wants to read it. :)

Oh my God, when I was in high school, two of my friends read the sword of truth books fanatically, and I used to mock them mercilessly for how nerdy they were...then one of them told me to read the first one and see if I liked it. That shit is the coolest book I have ever read, I swear. I got through the first one in like two days then borrowed the second one and lost it, to my great sorrow. I'm so glad someone made this thread!

Yeah Goodkind is awesome. I get frustrated with how long the Sword of Truth series has been going then I realize that I don't really want the story to end.
One thing though : If Richard doesn't bust out with some serious magical smackdown by the end of the series I'll be so dissapointed that I'll wait a whole week before reading anything else by Goodkind.
Seriously that guy writes fantasy crack.:D

Really I got frustrated with what a preachy cornball Goodkind got to be after the first couple. I don't know once he got away from strict fantasy, and into fantasy as socio-political metaphor I gave up. I don't need no hobbits telling me what to think, especially not some Ayn Rand loving preachy hobbit.

Was it him or Robert Jordan who had 100 or more pages of sadomasochist torture?

I think it's Robert Jordan, if so I really liked Goodkind, if not I found him an annoying asshole with his long plagiarized books. Again, I can't remember which published their series first, but they are very similar...
