I can get cigs and cigars no problem -- in fact, I smoke them fairly regularly, but I wanted to know if ANYTHING was legal so I would have an excuse to have a pipe and rolling papers without having to hide them from the folks.

In illinois possession of tobacco for a minor isn't something they can persecute for. Attempting to purchase tobacco or selling tobacco to a minor is. I dont know if that applies to any other states though.

I've heard of cops taking kid's packs of cigs, but I've never heard of anyone getting in trouble for having smokes (outside of school) around here... Of course, its been a few years since I had to worry about being a minor...

Check this out Frank, I am taking a Law class. I believe in the State of IL its ILLEGAL for you to BUY Tobacco under the age of 18. But somehow if the cops DONT see a transaction between a minor buying tobacco you can smoke it even if your a minor. Some loopwhole law I found out about.

at least the law in massachusettes is that if your under 18 and smoke cigs police cant stop you, they will however fine the store thats selling them to minors or if they see a person over 18 buying them for you theyll be fined.

we can smoke shit, we just just cant buy it....legal shit....but if a cop takes it and asks who bought it for you, they can give a ticket to them if they feel like it. Wow... well, the state of wisconsin is pretty strict about underage smoking. You can get a ticket here for simply possessing them if you're under 18... kinda fucked up but that's our law here. I am 17 and do smoke cigarettes... and most of the cops don't care... but i do know of a few people that have gotten tickets for being underage and possessing tobacco.

lol there is smoking "tickets" here. If you are under 18 and are smokin cigz and the cops catch you and know you are not 18 you get a $200 ticket. It's fucked up. I've never had one but some of my friends have gotton them.

No, it's not that. I would have respect for even people that do harder drugs, not that I would recommend doing harder drugs. Everybody should be able to legally put in their bodies whatever they want, even if it has a good chance of killing you. Even 2-year-olds...it should be up to the parents to make sure the kid doesn't smoke, just like it's their responsibility to make sure the kid doesn't snort Drano.
