View Full Version : Everything is boring....

I don't find anything exciting any more. Unless I'm high, everything seems boring. I'm not motivated until I'm high. I wasn't like this before, but I guess it's made me see the truth and what a crap sober world everyone is living in. Is this worrying?
No food tastes good anymore, no movie is worth watching, I can't be bothered doing anything anymore, UNTIL.....I spark up a joint. I take a few hits, and everything comes rushing back. I become hungry like a normal person should, I function like a normal person, only after I toke. I find the real me. That is surreal. I never thought I'd see the day when I'd need a substance to keep me going and keep me sane lol. I know sobrierty is the only wise option in the long run but I can't see myself living there. I don't like it.
I just don't want to go back to that world lol, it's a bit like Bill Hicks' quote. "I'd quit smoking but then I'm scared I'd become one of you".
Anyone else feel like this or is it just me?

Yea, unfortunately I feel exactly the same way. This happens to some and not to others. Best thing to do I guess is take a break until your life doesn't revolve around getting high again. That or just smoke everyday you know.

Smoke everyday, but less. Gotta work with it. I can work it, I can work it!!! LOL
That's the spirit. Don't let that evil Marihuana control you. Soon enough you'd find yourself with semen crust on your pants, because you couldn't find a rape victim.
God can help you... but only if you give money to the church.

How much do you have to smoke for that to happen to you?
I'm not a big smoker, but I have to say. Hitting my bong with some friends has become the thing I always look forward to the most. Maybe it's starting for me too?

It depends on the person. Some people have more of an addictive personality and less self control than others. Basically when you start noticing the symptoms that hero3279 described. Oh no symptoms lol, I sound like a damn doctor.:stoned:

It's called a-motivational syndrome; very common with cannabis users. In fact, it was one of the biggest stigma's back in Sonny Bono's time, he did commercials about a-motivational syndrome, though they hadn't coined the term yet.It is basically hen not high or in possession of weed, the world just seems bland and dry. I think that, secretly, all cannabis users, except for the people that completely LOVED life before they started smoking, suffer from a-motivational syndrome.
I think the trick is finding out which one you are, one that has to be high or one that can just possess cannabis. One thing I've found is that I reward myself with cannabis, not bribe myself. If I go to all my classes, I get to come home and smoke a nice, fat bowl all to myself. I study for 3-4 hours, writing notes, reading the chapter etc etc, I, again, smoke a nice bowl to myself.
I also think that just possessing weed can help a-motivational syndrome. My idea is that just by possessing it, you can get keep saying, "Oh, if I do this, I can smoke." or "I'll smoke when I get this done..." even if its just getting to a certain part in a video game, ya know? When I have weed, even if I'm not high, I feel life is more endurable because I know that, should the stress become to great, I can just take a couple hits and relax.

I think it's more about realising how crap the world is sober compared to when high.

thats kind of sad. weed is supposed to make you realize how amazing life is. it points out how wonderful the little details that we often glaze over can be. Try staying sober for a while and then go back to smoking. I feel high for like, 2 days after I smoke if I only smoke once a week.

actually I find that being sober isn't that bad, I mean, I smoke everyday, but I realize now there are times to smoke, and times when it is just best to let yourself chill for a while, also, I find you don't always have to be completely baked, sometimes a good, comfortable high is all you need, just my :twocents:

I feel the exact same way - just knowing that its there in case I need it is a huge stress reliever for me and helps me get through difficult days, studying, etc. I recently took almost a month break from smoking and it was not that difficult for me b/c I still had some in my possession. On the other hand, I am running low I get really stressed if I go a week w/out knowing if my source will come through. I smoke 2-3 times a week and I can't imagine being stoned ALL the time...sometimes i can be relaxed just knowing its there if i need it:)

sigh.....don't listen to him hero. Just cause u feel that way doesn't mean your boring. I feel the same way sometimes. Sometimes people just like to work, sleep, and chill. That's usually what i do. Just cause im not out partying every night, drinking to excess, and puking everywhere, chasing slutty shallow whores. Thanks but I think i'd rather be boring.
Used to do all that good stuff like 5 years ago when i was 21, but now that part of my life is over. Don't get me wrong I like to go out occasionally but it's not something that drives me. I'd rather spend my extra money on bud.

Defiler, you just became my personal hero :D (American Beauty)
Haha, yeah it's true. I guess I shouldn't feel bad about it and maybe it's part of growing up. Like some of you said, it's better having it and not needing it than needing it and not having it.
It depends what people would like to call 'boring' or whatever. You define your own world?

I love to be stoned alot to. But fuck that smoking 2-3 times a week. I don't see how people can do that. I find if I am stoned all the time being stoned becomes like being sober all the time, my high won't be as great any more. So I just reduce how much I smoke in a day.

I get the same thing. Life's just pretty dull when weed isn't around. However, I think it's quite psychological, as when I have weed in my possession and I am sober, I am usually happy just knowing it is there.
After starting university last year, I have pretty much been stoned every day. I was hoping to cut down when I got home for summer holidays, but I've been smoking just as much as I was at uni. Oops! I wish I had my own plant; the money scenario is the only thing stopping me from smoking more. :P
