Hey Guys,

Do you think that a Weed Basil Pesto sauce would be good? The recipe I have calls for Olive Oil, even extra virgin olive oil has 2 grams of saturated fat per serving which is a good number for being oil. I also think that the basil would work well with the taste of the weed.

Here is my recipe for Basil Pesto that my mother worked on and developed. I have yet to find a better tasting pesto, even at fancy Italian restaurants.

In a blender blend until near smooth
2 Cups â?? Basil Leaves
2 Tbls. - Peanut Butter (originally pine nuts, but the PB adds great flavor)
2 - Crushed Cloves Garlic
½ Cup â?? Olive Oil
½ Cup â?? Grated Parmesan Cheese
Slat and Pepper to taste

I'm thinking you could just simmer about an 1/8 in the oil for like 30 mins. Then just filter out the weed and prepare the Basil Pesto with the weed oil. You can freeze pesto in ice cube trays to save for later if you want which makes a good candidate for preparing ahead of time.

You could always half the recipe but still simmer the 1/8 of weed in the 1/4 cup of olive oil so that way you don't have to eat so much of the pesto. It would help for keeping your stomach from getting too full of pasta and pesto. Any thoughts?

I just tried this I made about 2 cups pesto about 2 OZ of shwag and then made a pizza and sprinkled about 1/4-1/2 cup on the pizza it came out good as fuk. and I am frekin wasted about 4 of us ate the pizza nice and hot and I cooked the last 5 minutes on 320 after adding the pesto. I did make canna oil though didnt simmer or saute the herb into the oil cause I like my food with no plant matter. very good very potent, if your using good stuff I say about a 1/4 for every cup of oil and when making oil always use a little more than what the end product will be, a cup and 1/4 will do. but for pesto the best oil should be used since the olive oil will be every where. I also used the pine nuts instead of the peanute butter, just cause around here Pinion is everywhere

About how much Pesto does this make? We looking at a single serving kind of thing, or a few meals worth?

Well for a plate of pasta, you will usually use 2-4 tablespoons of pesto. Less if you are using it as the base for a pesto cream sauce. So add weed with an eye to dosage/serving size.

In an effort to make myself look even more dull...

About how many tablespoons would you get out of the above recipe?

Im planning on making this, but need to know how many people I can make it for with the standard recipe, so that I dont make up a single batch and find out I needed a double.

I think the OP's recipe will make about 2 1/2-3 cups. Allow 1/4 cup per person.

A quarter cup sounds about right... don't forget that pesto makes for FANTASTIC panini.

Some nice thick crusty bread, shredded turkey (none of that slimy deli stuff), provalone cheese and tomato... Toast the bread, add the stuff and broil it open-faced. Smear on some pot-pesto and there you have it :)
