Spartanburg Drug Bust

About 8 months ago, I used to live in Spartanburg but moved away after finishing up my semester at school. I would always frequent the head shop The Magic Dragon considering it was right down the street. Just recently, however I got a call telling me that the owners got busted with a couple pounds (Kush, Dro, other KB) and were charged with possession with intent to distribute. What do you Upstaters think of this? What head shops are you going to frequent now that The Magic Dragon has closed (if you're in Spartanburg, that is)?

I talked to a Sparkle City friend again, to which he told me that Teh Magic Dragon is going to be moving to Greenville, but all of their pipes are gone. All of 'em were confiscated, including special-made hookahs. Marley, you can find KB in Sptbg; it's harder, but it's possible. What side of town do you live on? I'm thinking of going down there to visit aforementioned friend in the next four months, probably gonna bring some Chi-town friends with. Otherwise, how goes it down in South Cakalakey?

Man, that's weird. I'm from that area too and apparently live close to you if "The Dragon" is close to you. It's so miserable being in Spartanburg. There is NOTHING here in terms of smoke. We've made some great friends, but everything's been dry for many weeks now. Something's got to be going on. Luckily, our midwest buddies never let us down. I just wish people would loosen up a bit around here so that we didn't have to risk the long-distance haul.

Mhmm Chi-town indeed. I live in the nw burbs though; did you live in the city or the burbs? Spartanburg is bad dependent upon who you know, but then again, it can be really awesome if you know where to go. One of the main people down there got popped a while ago, but things should be starting up again. My friend said he was running into some kushes down there, as well as some dro. You ever scope out the local colleges/high schools? USCUpstate, SMC, SHS? Chaotic, do you live on the east or west side? If ya live on the west side, go over onto the east side; it's a LOT chiller to smoke over there. Take e. main street all the way down, passing restaurants and other crap (you'll end up going past the Creek Ridge apartments on your left, next to a Blockbuster). Keep on trucking until you hit Fernwood Glendale Rd., and bear right. Take that all the way down, past the firestation, and you're good to toke. I lived in that area for a long time, and I NEVER saw cops driving down the road. Sadly, Spartanburg cops are pretty racist; if you're black, you're singled out, but if you're white and on the East Side, they don't give two craps. Good luck otherwise for your hunt!

The lady who owned the Magic Dragon ( Kat) can be found at the old Thunderbird flea market on the Asheville Hwy on the weekends. I just spoke with her today. She has a small assortment to choose from and some great incense.

I heard that she was trying to set up shop in Greenville, but the husband bailed when some authorities tried to nab him. Gotta be careful and play the game right. She's a nice lady, but she's hypocritical in what she was doing. Just a thought :hippy:

man, richland and lex county swine are in some joint op here. busted some dude in richland county recieving what I remember to be about 150 to 250 lbs. a few months back. tiny drought, didn't last long tho.
