I am new to growing weed (or anything else for that matter. Iā??m not a hardcore stoner and Iā??m not growing to sell. Occasionally I like to wind down at the end of the day with a hit or two of good bud and my brother in law has a medical MJ card so I am doing it for us. Iā??ve never been good at growing anything except for cactus. A friend from work gave me two plants that he started. They were a month old and from some good seeds. I took them home and potted them in a two gallon pot that I modified to allow the water to flow through freely. My wife had some spikes that you shove into the soil to fertilize the plants in the pot so I tried some. Iā??m not sure if it did they did any good or not so I put the rest of the pack in the soil. This is where the problem started. The smaller of the two plants wilted up and looked like it was going to die and my wife started harping the obvious, that I was killing my plants. The next day after work I went by a local nursery and picked up some organic potting soil with bat guano already in it and a two pound box of bat guano. I took the potting soil and mixed in some Cactus mix potting soil and two tablespoons of fresh guano. I separated the two (unhealthy) plants from the soil that I obviously ruined with too much fertilizing spikes, rinsed out the roots, and replanted them with the new potting mixture. I do not think the smaller of the plants are going to survive but the larger of the two seems to be holding on. I need guidance I have a tendency of over doing things and really donā??t want to lose my last remaining plant. Please someone take a look at my pictures and tell me what I should do I have an inexpensive Moisture/PH/Light meter that I got from Lowes. I am using natural sunlight in my backyard. I have fertilizer for tomato plants, Miracle grow for tomatoes & Bat guano. I would appreciate any input.

Also tell me if this would be good or bad. I modified my pot to allow the water to flow through relatively freely. (I learned this from growing cactus) When the water comes out the bottom of the pot It is very dark. I am wondering if I am flushing out the nutrients in the soil and if it would be a good Idea if I collected that water to feed the plant with. Kind of, recycling my irrigation water so to speak.

My wife had some spikes that you shove into the soil.... I put the rest of the pack in the soil.
Those things are not good for cannabis... the rest of the pack? nooo!

Rinsing roots can be done. It sounds like your soil mix is still really 'hot'... bat guano is very very rich and 2 tablespoons in that small pot, added to pre-ferted soil, strikes me as excessive.

I have a tendency of over doing things and really donā??t want to lose my last remaining plant. lol you are right, you are over-doing things. When in doubt, UNDER-feed, because deficiencies are much easier to correct than ruined soil.

I modified my pot to allow the water to flow through relatively freely. (I learned this from growing cactus) That is a very good idea. If it has a drain tray under, remove it. Extra holes are good too, especially for you becaus enow you must FLUSH.

You WANT to flush out the nutrients in the soil at this point. And then let it dry out pretty well.. it looks like over-watering is also an issue.

Thanks for the input. I can flush them. I set up the pot with several holes in the bottom of the potwith 2" of round scotch brite pads topped with some screen material. I do this in case I overwater and it will work fine for flushing the nutrients from the soil. I really do appreciate all the input. If anyone has any seed recomendations and where to order them from I would like to know. Thanks again all for all your help.

They'll probably nuke this....but I like marijuanaseeds.nl.....dealt with them several times wth no problems and like their prices. The big name that is all thumbs up (but expensive) is Hemp Depot.

Sun, but get them away from that white reflective wall until they visibly perk up, and even then, go out during the hottest part of the day and measure temps- I'll bet it's SCORCHINGLY hot in that spot. You might consider a spot that gets MORNING sun and afternoon shade if your area is unusually warm.

It has been getting into the mid to upper 90's and after I flush them I assume I let the soil dry out, But how much? It is looking much better, But what is next? How do I get it to produce buds?

i think it will produce bud on its own outside not sure but i think that long nights and shorter days makes it bud...not 100% but i read something about the plant recognizing the nights getting longer and it wants to reproduce before winter...
