Hi-I am new,
Last month at my primary care physicians appt. I gave a urine sample and it showed up that I had a controlled substance for the results. I take pain meds for fibromyalgia and the dr. told me she will not take me as a patient anymore. I have been with her for 4 years. I also smoke pot to help pain.
QUESTION
I have a new dr's appt. on Friday and I am afraid to give her my old docs medical records. I do have a prescription written from a well known pain center out of Boston and have asked them to mail them to me. I do not do any illecit drugs but on one particular day I had a terrible tooth ache and put some cocaine on it to help numb it. What should I do with my new dr? Tell her the truth and risk not getting my pain meds? I have been on pain meds for 7 years and I cannot function without them. THe new dr. is going to want to know who my last primary care dr. was. What am I suppose to do.
Please advise
Susan

how effective is marijuana at treating your pain compared to prescription medication? sounds to me like you should go back to your physician and explain to her that you use marijuana to help the effectiveness of your medication or something..or use it for pain relief in general, whatever your reason is..

Just google fibromyalgia cannabis you'll get some hits- here's one to get you started- Clinical Studies and Case Reports (http://www.cannabis-med.org/studies/ww_en_db_study_show.php?s_id=194&&search_pattern=fibromyalgia)

Nothing like some scientific studies to bolster your position! Don't know what to say about the cocaine- did that show up in the test, too? - Granny:hippy:

And if you want some more adult company, drop into treatingyourself.com . It's an excellent MEDICAL site- good people who've "been there" (cancer, fibro, MS and more), fun contests, good info, nice sense of community, etc. (I love CC, but most of you are under 30 and in good health- you just don't understand like another MMJ user would. Love ya all, anyway) - Granny:hippy:
