Im still diggin my job but some of our customers are the biggest assholes I have ever met. I was recently cussed out over the phone by this chick who is past due on her account. We had to destroy our credit card book because the credit card companies didn't want us having all of the information on file in case of a break in. So we destroyed it and sent out letters to all of the customers who had there's on file and were taking automatic payments from.
So Ms. Spawn of the Devil calls up after we leave a message on her cell to call us or stop by the store. She had been past due since Saturday and she called on Tuesday. She said I and another coworker were harassing her and that we have her F'ing information on file and that we have no right to call her F'ing house and so on and so on. At the same time I and trying to explain to her about what was going on and about the letters that we sent out and all of that good stuff. She would not let me talk and every time I tried she got louder more belligerent and talked ever faster.
Come to find out the guy I work with took a payment over the phone from her husband the week before and her husband acknowledged that they got the letter and understood that they would have to call in there payments from now on.
Renting furniture is just like renting a movie. You rent it for a certain amount of time and when that time is up you either rent it again or return it. Its that simple. When you are late of course were going to call your ass you have the stores property in your possession and do not have that right without renting it again.
Some people are such assholes.
SO tell me some of your stories about horrible customers treating you like crap .

I used to work at a pizza place in the wealthier area of town, some of the rich bastards that came in thought the whole world revolved around them. I remember one time a customer dining in came up to me at the registers and said
Customer:"It's been 15 minutes, I was just wondering on the status of our order"
Me: "Well sir, the sign says we are currently running at aboout 35 minutes per pizza, as you can see it's rather busy right now. I can chwck how much longer it's going to be"
C: "Would you?"
Me: "It just went into the ovens, I'd say it's going to be about 20 more minutes"
C: "Great, we're supposed to be at a movie in 20 minutes now we're going to be late"
Me: "Sir, I'm sorry, but it was posted when you ordered that it would take approx. 35 minutes, and we have a lot of other orders to cook ahead of yours"
C: "Well, what am I supposed to do about the movie? We already bought the tickets?"
Me: "I can't really answer that sir"
C: "Can I talk to your manager?"
Eventually the manager came out and said, there was nothing we could really do, we could give him his money back and he could leave for his movie, or he could stay and eat and miss it. He decided to leave, and get his money back, his pizza had about 5 minutes left when he decided this, so we just brought it in the back and ate it....perhaps if you dont have time, you shouldnt order a pizza. it was retarded.

I worked telemarketing for a week or so. It wasn't as bad because I was calling people on a special list and they requested to be called, but spouses and other factors come into play and 50% of people who pick up end up flipping out.

lol no offense you to AlwaysBlazed, but I get way too many telemarketers calling my house, even after we tell them to stop calling. So now I have a tradition where I wait for them to go into one of their 5 minutes shpiels and very quietly hang up the phone so they can't hear the click, and keep talking. I only do it to the ones who keep calling after we've told them to frig off.

Working with the public can be one of the most frustrating jobs. Alot of people don't respect people who are there servers. They think that they can just treat people like crap and its there right because they are paying for certain services. Its total bullshit.
I have one method of finding out how people really are when I'm just getting to know them. Take them to a restaurant a few times and watch carefully on how they treat the servers that will tell you what kind of person they really are.

i worked at Domino's and was the MIT (manager in training) I had to deal with all the shitty customers. OMG iv had people beg me for pizza because they are starving. I once had a customer who was an elderly lady, and very very crazy. She came into the store i said hello, she instantly started to yell at me and slamed her pizza on the counter infront of me. I was so shocked, she said she ordered this piza last night and when she got up this morning it was no good and to replace it... im like WTF??? you already ate half of it!! and you want me to replace it? she then said i was a dumb fuck and wanted to talk to the other girl so i go and get daisy, and this lady is telling her about me remind you i am still standing at the counter. She is calling me names saying im worthless to society, and i have no respect for people, and that im just plan fucking stupid. My Jaw is dropped to the floor by now, we made her pizza and when we handed it to her we asked her to never come back again and if she did we would call the cops... so crazy..
edit: oh i forgot after she slammed down the pizza she grabbed a slice and shoved it in my face and was trying to force me to eat it . yelling at the same time TRY IT ITS FUCKING GROSSS !!
im like wow took a step back and jsut looked at my co-worker like what do i do about this lady??? helppp lol:stoned:

Back when i was a cashier there was this lady who decided to bring back her groceries and have me rebag them all while there was a huge line behind us. So i decided to multi task and ring up another person while i was bagging her things for a second time. Anyway she complained and refused to move out of the way for 15 minutes until the owner fo the store got there. I was fires two weeks later.

When I worked at 7-11 it was the worst job on Earth. It was bad enough that half my days I didn't get a break, and the other half I got 5-8 minutes max out of the whole day. I know that's illegal, but I only got the job as a favor from an old friend's stepdad as is, and really needed a job. Anywhoo....
I had this one big guy buy gas at 10:30pm. He comes in with a $100 to pay for his $22 worth of gas. Anybody who's worked in retail knows we keep small amounts of money in the register after dark. So I inform him I'll have to wait 3 minutes for the cash machine to let me take more out, and he just stands there grinding his teeth looking incredibly angry and impatient. I tried making friendly chit-chat with him, apologized for the wait, and he wouldn't even talk to me. After 2 minutes he's like "you gonna hurry the fuck up already! You are such a fucking idiot!" (as if I could make the machine's timer magically go faster). Then when I finally get the money, break his 100, he yells "UnFuckingBelievable!" and storms out.
What an asshole, did he want me to pull the change out of my ass? Maybe if he had half a brain he wouldn't try paying with a $100 bill late at night at a convenience store. He insulted me so much I was ready to just go off on him and tell him why he's such an idiot, but he was a BIIIIG muscly guy so I thought better of it.

Everyone working in customer service needs to ban together and let it be known that we deserve respect. I have never been disrespectful to anyone who works with the public because I know how it feels. I always smile, leave great tips, thank them and wish them a good day. Its the least that I can do knowing how badly you can be treated.

Here is what I would love......video or audio of EVERY single interaction with a client that can be played back when they lie their FUCKING heads off about what I told them. That would be my heaven.

That would be awesome. I want to confront some of our customers so badly but that is against policy because " The Customer IS Always Right" what a load of bullshit that is.

I'm with you princess. Working customer service can be really tiring, and some people act like they're just slaves there to serve them, not human beings to be treated like.... well, human beings! After working in it myself I'm exactly like you, I always go easy on them and be friendly and understanding even when they make a big screw up. Because hey, it happens to the best of us.

I worked retail years ago and I learned to kill them with kindness since the customer is always right rule is usually true and it will always get you in trouble, even when you are right and you are trying to save your company money.
So my gift back to retail workers is to stick up for them since they can't do it without getting in trouble. If someone is being an ass to a retail worker whether at a restaurant or department store, I will tell the rude customer what an assclown they are being and I am very sharp witted so I can do it so that they not only know their behavior is unacceptable but embarrass them as well.

haha.. when i worked at sonic i worked in the kitchen... when i worked at johnny carino's i worked in the back washing dishes.. when i used to mow yards with this self employed dude... well my grandpa's been doing it for as long as i can remember so i basicly was already a professional by the time iwas 10.... not to mention most the people that have you mow their yard have 9-5 jobs... so we rarely ever even had anyone home...
however, at sonic i used to wanna go cuss out the customers... cuz i'd get bitched at when they changed their mind... by the time they bitched the order had been taken off the screen (what you use to know what to make) so i couldn't just point it out and say 'hey look it's right there, i made it just like i was supposed to'
alot of times tho the manager even knew what was going on.. but sometimes they didn't and i'd get bitched at -.-...
