My mother died from a broken heart. My parents were married 50 years and my dad died. 3 months later my perfectly healthy mother died. Her heart was simply broke. She couldn't(wouldn't) go on without him. Broken hearts are real.:(

i have to agree, a broken heart is the worst pain. My grandmother died a couple years ago a year after my grandfather died, together for 66 years. She was so lost without him and was in perfect health. All of a sudden she goes into cardiac arrest and not even 8 hours later they called her death. I hear its as if you can feel your heart eating it self. until theirs nothing left. the blood flow slows down, it hurts to breath.. i think that would be the worst pain... and let me tell you iv been in accidents iv had my share of pain...

Love causes your brain to maintain high levels of dopamine and seratonin, and of course there's those "moments" with endorphine rushes to boot. Losing a love, neurochemically, is very much the same thing as going into withdrawl; similar to cocaine withdrawl actually. Love, unfortunately, also carries the psychological aspect of interpersonal atachment to deal with as well.

It will subside CC, though it may take a good while and it may still linger in the back of your mind for a good while after that. Life has a way of balancing itself, the extreme joy from love inevitably carries the extreme pain from loss.

"He who has a thousand loves will carry a thousand woes" - Buddha

the most painful thing in the world to me was when my ex-fiance that i had been with forever told me that he had fallen out of love with me. and i was still crazy about him, we had been fighting a lot toward the end, but i had no clue that it was that bad. but yeah, when he told me that, i can't even describe how i was feeling or what was going through my head, because it was so fucking painful that i've pretty much permanently blocked it - it would take a hell of a lot of digging to bring it back up.

Yeh, that definitely sucks. A broken shoulder hurts like hell too, but the worst was breaking my back.

im kinda in that same situation right now, iv been with my lady for 3 years now, and we have had our times, shes cheated, iv cheated, we have hated each other but we still hold on because not one of us has it in them to let each other go. she lives 45 min. from me on a good day with no traffic, traffic it can take anywhere from 1- 4 hours... Long distant relationships suck.. lived with her once, and then left her when she cheated on me... tried to block her from my heart... that didnt work... i am now stuck in another battle with her and it sucks. i hurt when i think of her.. so i try to keep busy, and just do my own thing, talk to her every now and then.. i wish things could be different.. i think the end is near.. :(:stoned:

I can dislocate my shoulder any time i want - but the first time i actually did it i was playing rugby and didnt feel the pain so i carried on playing and tackling. But now i can dislocate it whenever i want and it doesnt really hurt.

wow, i'm sorry. that's tough to deal with. *hug* hugs always make me smile :) good idea on the keeping busy, that's the best thing to do. occupy your thoughts with something else, anything, and just make sure that you're never bored, or else thoughts of her will start to creep up on you...yeah, it's hard to let go, and i'm the type of person that is scared to let go because i'm scared to be alone. i'm scared that i will end up alone in this world - never get married or anything like that.

Same thing happened to me and it took 2 years to get over. I still freak out every time she makes any effort towards communicating with me.

yeah, it's been almost a year. will be a year in the beginning of august...whenever i see him or anything, i just ugh it's really weird. and his current girlfriend (that he met while we were still together...and they started dating a week after we broke it off, and they are still together) HATES me...and i have been nothing but nice to her. a lot of people told me that she's intimidated by me...as if i'm intimidating. hah. ugh. anyways, yeah, it's just still kinda painful for me to think about things and such...but since it's been almost a year, i'm pretty sure that i'll be completely over it pretty soon. i'm doing very well with it now :)

I'll admit it...a broken heart does kill. Mostly when everywhere you go, all you hear is love songs on the radio and couples laughing and frolicking together..I'm like boo-hoo-hoo..I WANT THAT!!! WHY ME!! WHY CANT I BE HAPPY LIKE THEM! *sobbing*

then some time later...you have moved on and back to the "fuck that man..I am an individual" I dont need someone to complete me..
Fuck, I am not stoned. LOL
that is the reverse of what most right..

Haha, I know right? Thats how exactly how it is for me.
Emotionally, heartbreak is the most pain that has happened to me.
Or physically, I had my foot caught in a bicycle wheel and had my skin ripped off once which should have been painful but I don't remember feeling anything.

When i read the title of this thread the first thing that came to mind was TOOTH ACHE. I had one for 2 weeks last year and the last two days were absolute agaony. I stayed in bed spaced out on pain killers and weed as a result. On the last day i took some where in the region of 14-18 painkillers.

Then i read the thread. I imagine bone cancer hurts more and that scares me because my tooth ache was bad.

I heard a few years ago that THE WORST pain in the world is the pain a slug expiriences after having salt poured on it. But of course, we aint slugs are we?
