A fan blowing through the plants and up through the light will help keep away pests and heat and mold.

1000 is fine.. definitley a fan and fresh air circulation if you can.. you may want to make a little light tight space for clones.. the heat from the 1000 will keep them happy!! good luck and congrats on the new room!!!!

That is a perfect amount of light, should be in for some dense buds if you grow right. How tall is the room? hydro or soil? have a good grow.

7 feet is great!! Put the light on an adjustable chain/hook, so that you may raise it (the light) as the plants get taller. Remember not to let the plants get to big before you switch to 12/12... when you switch to 12/12 they will double+ in size.... keep a fan blowing between your light and the plants.. this way you can keep the light real close.. : )

post pics when ya get a chance : )

Most growers swear by 600 HPS for budding, but I use 1-1000 and 1-400 in the bud room (1000 w on a light rail) for 6 x 14 feet of grow capable area. The light rail moves the 1000 w three feet each direction.

***600w and 1000w are both designed for 6 sq ft (double-check @ hydrofarm.com). The difference is, the light can be placed closer to the plants with 600w. :)

Most growers swear by a 600 watt. I swear by the sun. Its the best.
