See Silica gel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silica_gel)

or see Howstuffworks "What is silica gel and why do I find little packets of it in everything I buy?" (http://science.howstuffworks.com/question206.htm)

These are the little packets that come in some products like shoes and the like to keep them dry and discourage mold, etc. They are non-toxic unless you open the packet and eat the contents.

Imm thinking of buying some and throwing them in my dry box. Anyone have any experience with this? Good idea? Bad idea? Thoughts?

thanks,

Silica gel has a limited capacity to hold moisture.
Air drying is tried and true.
The only way I would ever try to fast-dry buds is in a vacuum desiccator, and even that is kinda reinventing a wheel that already works perfectly well, thx.
Air dry, avoid mold, enjoy your harvest.
