Hey guys. im new to all of this...
Anyways, was at a friends house on the weekend, and he has this massive sativa Swazi tree in his garden. Its about 5-7 months old but is bigger than a bloody car! and its blosseming lovely :) I took 2 buds from it, he had already harvested some of it already.
I just want to know if this is "ready" or if it was picked a bit early. The first pic is when the buds were still very fresh, the second is after 3 days of drying in my cupboard. How long should i dry them for?
I will try get some close up shots a bit later. My camera died...
Anyways, here are the pics. Let me know!
Thanks in advance :hippy:

haha, yeah i know its not nearly dry enough.
Was wondering about the quality. i mean u guys always have a lot to say about other pics :) Its BRIGHT green with little red/brown hairs. not too many crystals that i can see, only if u look closely, and in very good light, then u can see plenty.

let it keep going for a few more weeks...it'll get much bigger and mature...then it'll knock you right on your ass

Let it keep drying :). When that branch it's on is dry enough to snap instead of bend then it's dry enough. But a few more days would be good enough.

thanks guys :) tomorrow ill play around with my camera's focus and get a decent close up shot. :)
im quite excited.. i havent grown any before, so this is the closest ill get to it.. ;P
Remember to harvest on the colour of the trichomes, not on the colour of the pistiles. Looks like some good bud - but when it's dry i'd seal it up and cure it for a week or 2 - just 2 weeks will make the flavour jump out at you, and overall it'll have more activaed THC and CBD/CBN.
Nice buds though - shame there was still a load of leaf on it - but you can trim all that off before you smoke it - you could even make some honey oil with the trichomes on the trim.

i havent trimmed it at all yet.. well not with scissors that is, just pulled the bulk of the leaves off..
the strain is Swazi gold. Its the standard south african weed. Not too chronic, but definitely not street trash. its decent :) The plant generally produces a lot of leaves.. typical of large outdoor sativa strains though?
i see what u mean about the trimming. i guess i got so carried away i forgot all about it, hehe.
Gonna trim it tomorrow. Right now... im off to bed ;)

if you have any branches, you could make clones of it if you wanted. Also, that looks like some nice stuff, even though the pic is pretty blurry. A definite score for free! :)

Looks like it has some great potential. Make sure the plant is ready to harvest so you don't waste bud. Also you gotta manicure that shit. Let it dry for more time and then cure it for a while and I bet that will be some damn good smoke.

:) Thanks thanks will do. Also, i read on the forums that one should cure it in a tin.. Is it possible, or should i say, would it make much of a difference if i cured it in a plastic tub, i.e. an ice cream tub or something similar just a bit smaller?

Open it up every day for a few minutes to let it get air.Should be fine if you can't open it everyday, or foget sometimes. Make sure it's air tight aswell so y ou don't get mold or any of that shit.
