On a rainy day a man is driving down a boardwalk and he makes a right turn. After driving for a bit he makes another right turn and ends up in an empty parking space. The man looks into his pocket and finds a few hundred dollars that were'nt there before. How did he get it?

i was thinking he landed in the ocean or something; it's always hard to tell with riddles like this whether it's ingenious and worth the time to bother about; or whether it is a steaming pile of shit not worth the time :) which is it???
my favorite is the labyrinth riddle: two doors, one goes to death, one to life, two guards in front of the doors; you can ask ONE of them ONE question to decide which door to go into, what question do you ask?

but why was it raining? my opinion is anything that isn't essential to the riddle should be emmitted for brevity's sake; is there a reason for the rain? or is it just a red herring?

supposedly people play these "board game" things when it's raining outside, could just be a myth though...

For the second one, is the liar necessarily guarding the door to death?

You would ask guard A if guard B would say the door guard B is guarding leads to life. If the answer is "yes", then guard B is guarding the door to life, and if the answer is "no", then guard A is guarding the door to life.

Nah, that doesn't work, because you don't know which guard lies and which guard tells the truth. Or maybe I'm just not getting it

You are in a room with 2 doors -- one leads further into the dungeon, one leads to freedom. There are two guards in the room, one at each door. One always tells the truth. One always lies. What one question can you ask one of the guards that will help you pick the door to freedom?
If you just wanted to determine which one tells the truth and which lies, you would ask: "If I were to ask the other guard whether you always tell the truth, what would he say?" A reply of "no" means you are talking to the truth teller, a reply of "yes" means you are talking to the liar. So since you only have one question to select the right door, you would have to ask "If I were to ask the other guard, which door would he say leads to freedom?" You would then select the door opposite to the one he picked.

I'm sure it works, but i'm too baked right now to test it out.
