(Sorry for posting in the lounge mods, but I need an urgent answer)

For all of you growers, which water is better for outdoor weed? My plants have just begun to sprout, and my friend needs to know what to use before he waters them. So lake or tap water? Also how many liters for each plant?

Anyone know?

i dont grow, but i wouldnt use
tap water for the sole fact that
it contains flouride,,, which may
do nothing to your plants, but i
wouldnt risk it.

You would have got a response faster in cultivation... a lot of growers avoid the lounge like the plague

Tap water is usually fine. I would not bother fucking with lake water unless your plants are already by a lake. Don't make growing more complicated than it really is.

Yeah, my plants are like 10 feet away from a lake lol.

Even with flouride in water the worst that is going to happen is that it will interfere with the plant's ability to uptake OTHER nutrients... and the levels are nowhere NEAR that... it's not like the plant is going to concentrate flouride in its buds and you're gonna smoke it... anyway, Flourine exists as a gas at room temperature so ahh whatever I don't know why I'm even bothering.

Just use tap water unless you are in hydro and/or your EC is sky high.

Edit:

Yeah, my plants are like 10 feet away from a lake lol.

So how hard is this to figure out? :wtf:

I just wanted to know if lake water had more nutrients/more harmful bacteria.

I would think lake water would have tons of harmful bacteria, algae, etc etc in it....not to mention small bugs, larvae and the like. As for nutrients...you're better getting those in a sterile form from a bottle.

Don't see alot of ganja plants growing along the side of lakes... :D

Keep It Simple Stoner

Nature tends to maintain a balance.. in a healthy ecosystem all the shit is present... both nutrients and disease... but it is kept in check. Put your plants in an ecosystem that will suit them, where they can compete... not IN the muck where their roots will rot... and not on a rocky shore where they will get no nutrition from the soil... but in a place that supports other similar plants with similar needs. Be aware of soil types and forest types; for example, a hemlock/ beech forest will be on a very acidic substrate and tells you not to grow there. Your lakeshore might be perfect, I don't know, I haven't seen it, but you just have to educate yourself and then let your instinct giude you.

All I know is that my friend filters all his water and carries it in huge truck loads to his site.

...and his plants are fucking amazing.

Your friend sounds like a smart one to me TG  I'm with Stinky....why would you use something on your plants that you don't even know what is in it?

Stinky, you live in CT right? Well if you do, you know where Lakewood Lake is in Waterbury? Its right there on a secluded piece of forest/shore that is impossible to reach unless you live in the house community over there.

Naw I'm in MA don't be telling everyone where to find your trees now!!

I'd use the lake water personally for an outdoor grow... NEVER for an indoor one... that's partly because I have been doing lake water testing in New England for YEARS and the pH of the lakes around here is pretty consistently in the range that our favorite plant enjoys.

Ok thanks. I don't really care if I tell anyone on this site, they are literally so hidden that it would take like Sherlock Holmes to find them. Also, will plants grow if they are like within 5 inches of each other?

stinkyattic

yes but not well. They should be spaced a couple feet apart. Plus the bigger the canopy is, the easier it is to spot and recognize as cannabis from the air... I'd scatter your plants... otherwise, find one, find them all.

We were going to space them out, but we got tired from cutting down some small bushes and trees to give them room. We are going to get some more bud soon and plant with that. If they are close together, what should the quantity and THC levels be like?

Nothing worth doing is easy.

Noooooo!!!! Not the dreaded noob Q!

How long is a piece of string?

Well, lets just say the conditions are like normal New England weather, and everything goes as it is supposed to, just not UBER OMG BUTTSEHKZ good.

How much will you get?
All of it.
Unless your partner takes it.

Come ON that's a dumb question. Go look at peoples grow logs in outdoor cultivation where this thread ought to have been posted originally. Sheesh.

Unless the lake is a stagnant puddle of toxic waste, it will be fine for the plants. If there is wildlife around (fish, insects, birds, small mammals), then that is a sign that all is well.

Also another question. Does it matter whether I water at night or day?

Thanks you, dawg. I don't really care if I get flamed much. Its just the internets, I'm used to it. I already did some research on my own, just not in detail.

Lazysomking 420-
I got your rep message but seriously, and I'm not trying to be a complete bitch here, thanks for the props but I'm not going to give you rep just because you repped me... asking me for rep for no particular reason is a good way to get NEGATIVE rep... post something worth repping, then we'll talk... FUCK that pisses me off. That's not what the rep thing is for... mutual fucking rep masturbation... come ON.
What are you doing, going around to people with the most rep power and asking for handouts?

onequickmove
05-16-2007, 03:57 PM
lol.... that's fantastic, and deserves a pos. rep. why on earth would anyone care about rep on an internet site anyway? perhaps the same reason they care about their damn level in halo, i'll never understand it :)

Almost been a week, I don't think they sprouted yet though.
