Lake or Tap water
(Sorry for posting in the lounge mods, but I need an urgent answer)
For all of you growers, which water is better for outdoor weed? My plants have just begun to sprout, and my friend needs to know what to use before he waters them. So lake or tap water? Also how many liters for each plant?TheFatKid Reviewed by TheFatKid on . i dont grow, but i wouldnt use
tap water for the sole fact that
it contains flouride,,, which may
do nothing to your plants, but i
wouldnt risk it.

You would have got a response faster in cultivation... a lot of growers avoid the lounge like the plague
Tap water is usually fine. I would not bother fucking with lake water unless your plants are already by a lake. Don't make growing more complicated than it really is.

Even with flouride in water the worst that is going to happen is that it will interfere with the plant's ability to uptake OTHER nutrients... and the levels are nowhere NEAR that... it's not like the plant is going to concentrate flouride in its buds and you're gonna smoke it... anyway, Flourine exists as a gas at room temperature so ahh whatever I don't know why I'm even bothering.
Just use tap water unless you are in hydro and/or your EC is sky high.
Edit:
So how hard is this to figure out? :wtf:

I just wanted to know if lake water had more nutrients/more harmful bacteria.

I would think lake water would have tons of harmful bacteria, algae, etc etc in it....not to mention small bugs, larvae and the like. As for nutrients...you're better getting those in a sterile form from a bottle.
Don't see alot of ganja plants growing along the side of lakes...

Keep It Simple Stoner
Nature tends to maintain a balance.. in a healthy ecosystem all the shit is present... both nutrients and disease... but it is kept in check. Put your plants in an ecosystem that will suit them, where they can compete... not IN the muck where their roots will rot... and not on a rocky shore where they will get no nutrition from the soil... but in a place that supports other similar plants with similar needs. Be aware of soil types and forest types; for example, a hemlock/ beech forest will be on a very acidic substrate and tells you not to grow there. Your lakeshore might be perfect, I don't know, I haven't seen it, but you just have to educate yourself and then let your instinct giude you.

All I know is that my friend filters all his water and carries it in huge truck loads to his site.
...and his plants are fucking amazing.
