Did you guys have to cut 6" holes for the cooltube ventilation into the sides of the hydrohut mini? If so how did you go about it, and was it hard installing the flanges? I was thinking of using reducers but they take up space and reduce air flow. Peace

yeah man, i had to cut holes. When i got mine, it only came with one single flange, how stupid huh. So i had to go to HD and get some flanges. I cut mine to install my 1khps that is just an air cooled hood, no cxool tube.

there are some pics and the onle i uploaded you can see. The top is a 6" hole i cut.

I would recommend to install the phlanges where you like them, then, while inplace use a razor blade and cut around the inside of the flange, it will leave you a nice circle. Super easy to install. If you have another set of hands available, you could say it's "too easy!"

But, if i were you, i wouldn't buy a HH, I'd just frame one up myslef. I guess the HH is good if you are renting or need it to be portable.

The cardboard is to keep light away from the flap at the bottom.

any other questions, hit me up.

hey dusto, did you have any problems with the vacuum effect pulling the walls of ur hut inward making it cramped in ther???

yes, so i added horizontal supports that can be adjusted to the height of the plants.,

i took electrical conduit and cut it so it reached from one post to the other (51 inches) then flattened both ends

Than i drilled a hole in the flat spots on both ends of the piece i cut. I then zip tied the new supports to the back left and right walls. Since they are on zip ties, just dont tighten all the way and they can be adjusted up and down. Does that make sense.

the conduit is like 1.50 for 10' at HD.

Heya Blazeido - I modeled my hydrohut after my bud Dusto's so whatever he did, I followed suit. Except the horizontal supports - yet. I do get some vacuum but it's not that bad so I let it go.

Dusto, I hear ya on the 'noia ....I've been staying a little lower profile. My last grow I didn't even post untill it was nearly done. I am experimenting with a waterfarm now and having some PH issues that seem to be about straightened out - I'll start a new thread in a week or so.

Dusto2k, Where are the original precut holes located in the hut for the 4" flanges? Do they come with some sort of preinstalled rim to screw the flanges in? I guess Ive just never installed flanges.

Just to get installing the 6" flange straight you just put the two sides of the flange on the tent wall, hold it there and screw the screws/bolts through the material and then cut out the middle. I noticed that the flanges are all double sided. Can you only use one side of it? Were the flanges you got at HD the same as the Flanges you can get from the hydro shops made for the hut? Peace

theres a precut hole on the bottom left side of the hut, and the top right corner for your exhaust. both are 4"

looking at the hut from the front. The intake will on the left wall about 12 fopot from the ground and about 3 inches from the front door. (down in the corner. The Exhaust is in the ceiling in the back right corner. And yes the flanges and hut are pre drilled and have rings to make install super easy.

when i bought the hut it didn't come with double flanges, i guess they figured that out a little late for my liking. The flanges i got a HD are cheap duct flanges, i can put up a pic.

actually if you look at the pic i posted above, the intake is at the base of the hut

exhaust is in the roof in the back right corner, 3 passive intake flaps on the left, back and right walls.
