Okay, I'm freakin' out here. I locked my keys in my car (yes, baked) the other night 'n ended up having to break one of my windows to get in. I didn't tell my parents 'cause they'll be mad 'n so I'm tryin' to hurry up 'n fix it, problem is I only got $8 bucks. I know it won't get fixed this weekend, but I don't know how long I can hide it. My parents never really look at my car 'n the side the window is on is facing away from the house, so I think I'm good for a few days, but I really need to get it fixed fast.
So does anyone know about how much it'd cost? I called one place and they said its saturday and he needs to call the warehouse or something so I'm stuck without an answer here.
Its the smaller back window here http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a9/Wiki_cars_248.jpg
Anyone offer some info to ease my mind?

100 - 150. I think that is around what I payed.
If it may rain you better tape a garbage bag across it or else you will be even more fucked.

what really sucks, is you broke the most expensive of the side windows. Just call a junkyard and ask them how much one is. SHouldn't be more than $100 after install.
What city are you in.

What?! Thats the most expensive one? We broke that one 'cause we thought it'd be cheaper.
I'm in ocala...

i know, but the shapes of the regular windows are more common and therefore cheaper. The little windows are custom to the vehicle. I know only cuz i did the same thing and i had a few broken windows in my time.
Call around and ask for the name and number of an auto salvage (ie junkyard or wrecking yard) thats gonna be your best deal.,

try a junk yard and get one for 1/2 but you will pull out the old one and replace it in your car.

Why would your folks be mad at you for locking your keys in the car?

That was a certainly a hasty decsion to smash the window. AAA or a locksmith could have dealt with that within an hour

I don't have AAA, I called for a locksmith but the one they connected to me gave me a voicemail, it was 1am and I really didn't have a lot of options, sucks 'cause I was like 5 miles away from where I was spending the night, if it happened at the house I woulda waited till the morning to figure it out but we really didn't have a choice.
And just fucking great, I went out there to get my shit outta the car, fucking broke my pipe. That means both of my pieces are broke, bubbler 'n pipe. Fuckin' A. I reallllly wish I had bud right now. I think I'm going to pack this shake for the fuck of it, even though its like half of 1 grav hit.

Doesn't that only work when the windows are cracked and you have to have the right kind of lock which I don't.
Man, bad shit has been happening lately, and its all goes back to money too, money is fucking evil.
in most cars you can get the wire through that rubber seal on the windows. Then you just have to fiddle around with it till you are able to unlock the car.
Even if that wouldnt have worked i still think breaking the window was not the smartest move.

yeah, you could have probably solved it with a wire hanger. i've gotten into all of my cars in the past with a hanger when i locked the keys inside. it helps if you have something to pry the glass away from the vehicle about 1/8 to a 1/4 inch or so. there's ALWAYS a way to get inside of a car without breaking the glass. it ain't gonna be cheap to replace the window. i can tell you that.

Well Its a bit late for that now. I was trying to convince everyone there was a way to get in without breaking something, but they kept telling me I was wrong, fuckers.

Eh, if they find out I'mma just be like "yeah...I locked my keys in the car 'n had to break it open to get in, I didn't say anything 'cause I felt like an idiot 'n I figured you'd be mad, plus if I got it fixed theres no harm done."
I'm more concerned with getting it fixed, tryin' to think of ways to get money.
How much you think a VCR goes for at a pawn shop?

why didnt you just roll down the window and pop the trunk latch? you could have gained entery through the trunk.

if this ever happens in the future don't break the window do what on second thaught says and get yourself a coat hanger Pontiac Sunbirds and Chevy Cavaliers are some of the easist cars to break into without blowing out the window i did it on my buddy's cavalier and was in in less than 5 minuites another easy way to get into these cars without doing any damage is to find yourself a crobar and carefully pry the trunk open and if i am correct i am pretty sure the backseat on these cars fold down with enough space to crawl into the back seat area and into the car next time everyone is telling you to break your window tell them it is your car and you aren't breaking shit out

you must not have a good relationship with your parents if you gotta hide such a small thing as this, i mean they are your parents, if u told em and they got pissed off and bitchbitchbitch, then i feel sorry for you being stuck with some bammer ass parents. they might get a little upset, but the they should'nt trip about fixing it for you, so you wouldnt have to use the money, unless of course, u got bammer asss parents LOL

Yea, you didn't have to break your window. Call 411, if they give you the same place, tell them to connect you to another. And there's always a hanger.
My friend locked his keys once in his car at a gas station near my house at like 2 in the morning, and there happened to be some dude just sitting there, who just happened to have a coat hanger. It was cool, but a little sinister lol.

Tried the crowbar 'n trunk thing, did not work, my trunk is fucking bent now thanks to that actually. The fucking crowbar bent while we were trying to do that one...no lie.
But yeah, its uhh, too late for me to go back and not break my window.
Oh and I don't have a shitty relationship with my parents, I just don't like to tell them a lot, its my nature. The less they know, the better, I think. Easier to get away with shit, plus I'm just not a big talker, even when I could answer 'anything exciting at school happen?' then I don't because I'm just...weird I guess.
Heh, today my dad was like "hey I'mma wash 'n vacuum my car, you wanna do yours too?" and I was like 'nah' 'cause I washed it over spring break 'n vacuumed it ('cause of glass) the other day. But anyway he washes his car on the grass near mine, on the side with the broke'd window. Didn't say a word, guess he didn't notice.
I put saran wrap 'n tape on it too, so its like...noticeable now. I don't even care if they find out or whatever, I just don't feel like telling them. Hopefully I can get it fixed soon though. I'll call around tomorrow 'n try 'n get a price.
