In my opinion, this whole thing is being overreacted upon. He made a racial comment, so what? Its not like Dave Chapelle or South Park gets cancelled. My main beef with this whole thing is that shows on like BET can get away with the white character being a stuck up dorky geek constantly getting picked on and messed with.

i feel the same way about the shows on BET and other channels using the dorky white guy and getting away with it. thats a racial steryotype to. but here is the deal. its a joke. its funny. hell im white but when i see chapelle make fun of a stupid white guy i always think damn, i got a white friend that reminds me of. thats the whole joke. everyone knows the white kid who thinks hes black. and i bet everyone knows a nappy headed hoe or two as well. the way i see it people have to quit playing the race card so much. i you want racism to die out (never will IMHO) you have to let it go. another thing that pisses me off is this shit where its wrong to call black people black now. african-american? WTF? if you want to be called african then move to africa, otherwise be proud of where you are. whats next? are we gonna have to change the name of the freakin White house to something like "The place where the president lives" so that its not discriminating against any other ethnic backgrounds? damn people. get over it. it was a joke. and to be honest i don't see how it was racist anyway. i got a nappy ass head sometimes to. lol

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson piss me off. Civil Rights leader my ass! More like fucking Black Rights leader. I bet if I were to become a White Rights leader, I'd be called a racist. Not black, not white. But I understand that he said this the day after the womens rutgers team lost the tourney. I had seen them play games before (the mens bb was so boring) that final game against Tenn and I was very impressed by their team.

If they hadn't lost to TENN, Imus would never have said anything. But instead, he kicked them while they were down and that is not cool.

Imus is just big fuckin poser. If I saw him on the street I would personally whip his ass and strip him of that buckle and hat.

I'm Black, and i feel its time to clean the media of shit that is degrading to all groups of people (women, blacks, whites, jews, everybody), be it Imus saying "Nappy headed hos" or nelly swiping his credit card on the crack of a girls ass (tip drill video).
millions of people watch theses tv stations and when they condone these racist or degrading behavior it send s a message that that kind of behavior is acceptable.

Don Imus was used to get the message across that if you bold enough to say shit about a group of people on national tv, then you better be ready to face the consequences

First off, we have this thing in the U.S. called the first amendment - Freedom of speech. He was acting under that right. With that said, I believe the media blew it out of proportion, but he should have been more intelligent than to say it on a national radio broadcast.

In the same statement, he stated he thought the Tenn. women's basketball team (predominately black) was cute which kind of contradicts the racism in that statement.

I agree though. He lost his job, because he lost sponsors.

Am I the only person on this planet who watched the video of the infamous clip that got Imus fired? Am I the only person in the world that sat there and watched/listened to the producer of the Don Imus show call them (I am now quoting) "JIGGABOOS" (end quote) ???

How is it that the producer can call the women jiggaboos and people say nothing? What planet am I on? When did people start pretending that commenting on the hairstyle and sexual promiscuousness of a bunch of college basketball players is more offensive than calling them jiggaboos.

I think that many American's are not actually go 'in depth' when it comes to new stories and they sit there and allow the media to spoon-feed them the information they want them to have. 25 years ago there was actual reporting taking place. Now days everything is scripted. If it were not the sheople who are indoctrinated by the media woke up....
