okay, I have been planning to try scrog for a while and have eventually got round to it. I am growing 6 plants under a 400 watt MH and am switching to a 600 HPS during flowering with a 3' x 3' screen. I'm using 2" chicken wire and the screen is 14 inches above the soil. I have topped the plants and they currently range from 5-8 inches tall. The strains are white russian and Ice. I want to have nice sized buds as I am using a 600 in a 3'x3' area, how long should I train and how much should I fill the screen before switching to 12/12? I'd prefer to grow the buds a bit taller rather than a flat sea of small buds. Does this setup sound okay or should I lower the screen slightly. It's my first time scrog and I really want to do it right. thanks if anyone can help

Hi amstron good to see u still around mate.will you be trimming under the scrog.?I done a scrog with wr and she loved it.I had my screen 12 inches from soil and trianed them around clockwise until i filled the whole screen until every node was through the screen and then put then 12/12 then first 2 weeks 12/12 i still had to do a little tidying to get them all the same size and she looked exellent at harvest time loads of buds in the center with all main buds around the edges it was a very enjoyable experiance and the yeild was exeptoinal.best of luck and hope you will be doing a thread on the scrog grow.be safe the postman.

hey postman
ye, my internet has been down for the last month or two so I havn't been able to post much recently. I am planning to trim under the scrog as I read the excess foliage has no purpose once you have a thick canopy. Training them clockwise sounds like a good idea as I want some uniformity in my training. I'm looking forward to a very nice yield off this grow...hopefully. I mite do a thread on this one once I get my camera working. thanks for the help, amstron
