it rises. you know when in kindergarten they teach you to crawl on the floor if you're caught in a fire? thats cause smoke rises and there's usually oxygen near the floor. as for the smell, it kind of goes wherever.....

The smoke rises and the smell goes into your clothes and NEVER comes out. The smell of marijuana loves to tag along with you, I don't mind.

It does come out, you just have to wash and febreeze.

well... thats a difficult question... theoretically the smoke should rise... But in fact it depends of many things... usually when the weather is good the smoke rises, and when the weather is changing (before rain, as example) the smoke goes randomly, it floats somewhat horizontally... there is a word in english which describes it, but i just cant remember it...
And the smell is still more unpredictable... i think the only law which holds for every possible occasion is the Murphy Law, which states:

"The smell of the weed will go, in the shortest and fastest way, directly to the nostrils of the person which you really DONT want to smell it."

So, be warned... :p

anybody else irked by tiny ass posts with no explanation for their thought? seems like a waste of time, really, cause then he has to go into it more in his NEXT post so that he can cover his own ass. but he has a point. The heated smoke from the end of a burning joint or blunt WILL rise because it's heat means it has a low density; however, the smoke you spit out is only a little above the temperature of the air around you, so it will be bouyant if the pressure is low (ie before a storm)

in theory, of course

In cold weather (well, not so cold considering I'm in Cali, but yeah), I've had smoke go up a bit, and then sort of just hover there for a while, and so a light fog/haze sort of appeared.

I have filled a glass full of smoke before you take a strawl and put a joint on the end and gently blow into the strawl so the smoke goes to the bottom of tyhe glass and when youget it about 1/2 up the glass you drink it its pretty crazy!!!

Unless barometric pressure is low (aka before rain, you can usually smell it when there's low pressure), smoke rises. Pretty much anything that goes out of your lungs will rise, since your throat/nose/lungs warm the smoke or vapor to body-ish temp, which is usually higher than the ambient temperature around you.
