Ouch caps! man.. ur indoor bible should tell you everything if not do a search in the forum or on google! :) it you want a medium that’s already had a certain amount of feed put in it (which i wouldn’t use as ul prob burn ur seedlings) go to your local garden center, That kind of compost has recently taken off for veggie growers! :)

i use a soiless mix (1/3 perlite,1/3 vermiculite,1/3 (coco couir or peat moss))
works great, its soiless so has no nutrients, all nutes must be added yourself, gives you control over the nutrients you plant gets, easy as hell

Marijuana Grower's Handbook (http://users.lycaeum.org/~sky/data/mjgrowers.html)

try there in section 5,there's a few mixes and also a bit explaining what each componant of your mix is actually doing,i think the site is basically ed rosenthals marijuana growing handbook, but online

hope this helps

i AM REALLY NEW TO GROWING AND HAVE AN AMAZING AND EXPENSIVE SET UP WITH EVERYTHING YOU NEED EXCEPT A EXCELLENT MEDIUM,

Cuz you are new to growing I would suggest using A SOILESS Mix (ProMix, Coco, Sunshine4) Whatever. Its easier to control what your plants gets food wise. Save the compost for another grow when you have a bit of experience under your belt.

Pick any good Nutes (FoxFarm , botanicare) they both are excellent with extensive detailed Feeding Scheduals on their web sites.

Good luck keep us all posted!!!

i use foxfarm ocean forest potting soil in 15 gallon totes with clay pellets on the bottom with some weed block so the roots dont penatrate the pellets and go threw the holes i drilled in the tub for dranage. this is my first time using this setup but i love it it drains well but the soil still hold water. give a try i got my tubs at wally world.

Ok, I have to put my 1.5 cents into this. IMO it is so very, very bad to use soil that has Nutes already in it. Most of these soils have time released Nutes. Which if you have a nute burn problem, it will be very hard to fix. Med-user Uses the soil I would use. Fox-farm is about the best soil out there IMO. Most all soils bought at nursiers and such are different from state to state even though they have the same brand name on them. They do not ship these soils across the country, they make them in the area they are sold. In My state, most of the soil you buy is just ground up bush's with some cow shit in it. It sucks for growing plants. This is why I went Hydro.

Can You say FOX FARM, Baby??;)
