so (thursday) i smoked the last of what i had, thinking "no problem, i'll go pick something up tomorrow." but no.

friday i woke up in the worst IBS pain i've had in MONTHS. i don't think i've had an episode this bad in at least a year. it's hard to even describe. it feels like i've badly pulled all the muscles in my lower back, it burns, and every once in awhile i think there is something crawling around in my abdomen. I can't eat because everything makes me feel like i'm going to throw up. walking from the bed to the couch is an ordeal, and i don't want to even get started on how much time i've spent in the bathroom. if only the pain would just STOP for a few minutes. it's frustrating to finally be able to sleep, only to wake up and still be hurting. today is better in that i can sit up and focus enough to type something.

here's a good link about "invisible diseases" that i think some of you medicinal users will relate to: but you don't look sick (http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/2007/02/the_spoon_theory.php#more)

i'm smoking some resin to take the edge off. it doesn't help a whole lot with the pain, but at least i feel less stressed about it. i think this has convinced me to get my prescription card, which i've been putting off because i'm a bit paranoid. i'm not sure i need the government to know i smoke.

thanks for letting me rant a bit.

I'm sorry your hurting so much. Good thing you have resin. I have a question though, is the pain that bad that you can't take regular meds for IBS?

man, i wish regular medication would work. i've tried LOTS of meds...eventually i lost count. absolutely nothing that the doc prescribed worked for me, or had side effects that were worse than the IBS pain. eventually she told me to just smoke when i needed to, and she wouldn't note anything on my chart (this was before i lived in a medical marijuana state). i changed my diet (no fast or fried foods, only whole grains, etc.), and i take fiber and supplements, so it's not nearly as bad as it was a few years ago. but every once in awhile i have a really bad attack like this, despite my best efforts.

Shit, I'm really sorry you feel so bad missybit. I don't know too much about IBS, but I do know it's a lot easier on your digestive tract to eat fruits instead of meat and grains. Also eating english mints can really help. Good luck to you.
