It might seem a silly question what way will cause the least amount of tears/offence to ur partner???

There is no easy way.
Do NOT do it over IM/E-mail/Myspace...LAME.
If you must, phone is okay, in person is best.
She will most likey feel sad/cry no matter what.
Tell her straight out what it is, no lame "it's not you, it's me." The "I don't have time" only works in certain circumstances. Like, if you really don't have time.
Respect her as much as possible, talk in a calm voice, be truthful, do it in a not-so public place, but I wouldn't do it in my house either. Try not to swear either and try to avoid physical contact.

I thinks its very hard to watch some1 cry, i will tell the total truth face to face but will then tend to take back some of my words in order to not cause any more upset, which is quite bad i think.

So then, plan out what you are going to say.

whatever you do, go in with a game plan and fucking stick to your guns! girls are evil when it comes to break ups, they know that once they start crying most guys lose their nerve.
go to her place, tell her its over, and leave! dont let her suck you in with the tears !
good luck.

Meet her in person and tell her how you feel.

i suppose the phrase "u gotta be cruel to be kind" is quite appropriate here isnt it...its not necesserily being harsh but the truth will hurt but will be for the best.

Be a man and do it to her face...other than that there really is no easy way. Try to avoid telling her out of the blue, e.g give her sognals that you're not totally happy with your relationship.

Assuming you're a guy, get her to break up with you. Believe me, I've done it - and it's great. Whatever it is she doesn't like, pretend to like it - or the opposite. Don't get mean, just sculpt an impression of yourself in her mind that will make her want to dump you. This can include such things as claiming that you're planning to never work at a job again, not wanting kids (my personal favorite because it's true), no religion (another favorite of mine), and other ideas that are undesirable to her. This way, nobody feels too bad about the breakup. You may not even have to lie. In my case, I usually just told them the truth for the most part - which was enough to send them packing.

i like the giving off signals idea before the talk, in fact i did it kinda the other week but she somehow managed to prolong it for another month, how could i let that happen!?!
i dont really want to make her finish me because i dont wanna be seen as being a dickhead in her eyes or anyones elses for that matter which is what would happen because i would have to be extremely nasty for her her to dump me i reckon

Nah, the desirable, "Maybe we should see other people" suggestion by her is within easy reach if you play your cards right. Just act nice, but really apathetic about the relationship and what she wants. Obviously, she' not your type, so it's your right to do this. Or, you could just break if off cold turkey - which is faster.

Oh, man, Skink. That's cold. Did she really do that? That's so below the belt. Especially considering the way husbands feel about dinner.
Just be direct, brief and honest, Slick. Be a man instead of a manipulative wus of a game-player trying to engineer the situation so she'll break up with you first. That suggestion was especially rich coming from a guy who's always claiming men have relinquished their "manhood." Now I see why he's found that to be true.
If she's upset, that's understandable. You really can't control her feelings or responses. You can only control your own. And if her emotions make you uncomfortable, well, too bad. She's allowed to have them. Just be direct. Once you've laid out your case. . .
Just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You dont need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You dont need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

Honesty in a break up is allways the best policy, the person your breaking up with has the right to know why! and if your not man enough to handle her tears, well just buck up buddy!

i recomend telling them to their face in a comfortable enviroment, such as their house of yours.
i had to break up over the phone once, they asked me the question and i was going to split with them the next day so i couldent lie and then tell them tomorow....
hope it goes well mate

That song was written by a rich midget that's been married and divorced several times, once to Carrie Fisher. His current wife, formerly the New Bohemian band's singer Edie Brickell, was young enough to be his daughter.
You'll be giving the girl a break allowing her to bust up with you. We don't pick women as much as they pick us. That's just the way life for a man is. Just do the right thing and let it die as painlessly as possible. Good luck.

Have her walk in while you are banging someone else! Oh, wait, you wanted the least painful method, sorry. That was the jackass way of breaking up.

just go for it. a relationship isnt going to work if you arent both 100% into it. and you definately arent.
so do what you gotta do. theres no "good, great, or easy" way out. its all shitty, so make like a nike commercial and just do it.
im sure youll feel better once youre single.
