"Its some white strain, like..Rhino sumfin." my dealer knows jack all on weed but he bought his stash off this new guy who grows loads for medical use.

Isn't White Rhino a cross of White Widow? I think it is. :) If so, it has traits of WW in it, so leave the person be.

Oh Geez...I don't even know where to begin on this thread...

Firstly: THE REAL WHITE RHINO, as developed by Green House Seeds Company, located in lush, Amsterdam, is comprised of "Afghan, Brazillian, and South Indian" genetics.

Therefore, this little gem of a quote from zalami128,

No its not you dolt, "white" is a strain and "rhino" is too thats those mixed. widow has nothing to do with it.

is completely fictional. Let me give you a piece of advice zalami: The government already spreads enough misinformation about marijuana to the public, we don't need high school kids like you spouting a bunch of bullshit with reckless disregard to its truthfulness. Next time, don't pretend to know all the answers. That's why we have so many ill-advised stoners on these forums.

SECONDLY: reaper666, you are correct. Different breeders DO play with the genetics of their plant. Although any true geneticist will tell you that doing so technically creates a new strain. Also, I would go ahead and bet the farm that 99% of "White Rhino" in the states contains a different lineage than the one listed above.

AND FINALLY: Don't take everything YOUR DRUG DEALER tells you as fact. Ultimately, they are providing a service to you, and they only do so when they remain profitable. Therefore, they have a huge incentive to tell you that the bud they sell is X-strain, when it in fact comes from a commericial bag-seed grow-op.

Jesus..sometimes I feel like a babysitter.

Oops, I almost forgot the evidence:

There, look for yourself young Padawans.

And eh, if you still aren't convinced, go buy The Cannabible. I'm sure you all could use a little reading anyway.

I have some White Rhino at the moment. It's very relaxing, but it doesn 't really get me high... it just chills me out. It's great for late at night or watching movies or something.

Yeah, I have the Cannabible 2 and 3. I read 1, but I still have yet to purchase it to read it over and over again.

It pisses me off, when people "create" facts, that are wrong.

But, when he said "white is a strain", it's more like "strains". In the Cannabible, author Jason King is not a fan of any of the white strains, (mostly hybrids of white widow and something else) as the white stalks that prevail on the buds are misleading, when it's actually sparkly resin glans than get you high, not white hairs and stalks.

And for those who may say "Bullshit. White Widow is one of the strongest strains!": No, you're wrong. Each strain has a different chemical composition, and there are tons of chemicals that alter your high. One strain may have a very high level of THC, but there are other chemicals that alter how the high will be, such as THCV which is rare and creates a psychedelic high, found in some tropical sativa's. Haze varieties tend to have THCV in them. Such as Neville's Haze, and The Original Haze, Metal Haze, etc...

After reading 3 Cannabibles thoroughly and read strain descriptions on hundreds of strains, all by a person who has tried them all, I'd like to believe that white widow is not some amazing strain. Yes, it looks, tastes, and smells good, and gets you blazed, but I've had more psychedelic (my personal favorite) highs off of random sativa's. All of these "strains" that people assume are the top, are actually just commercial strains.
