hey all,
this is my first indoor grow with about 9 square foot using a 400w hps...right now i'm vegging and all seems fine, do u think ventilation will be required or
CO2 for such a small space, currently i'm using a small fan which seems to be working alright and the temp has not went over 76degrees...i'm hoping that i can get away with no co2 or ventilation work for such a small grow of a few plants...thanks in advance

You will need ventalatoin of some sort or co2 one of them will be needed though you didnt mentoin if you were in a sealed room or if they are getting fresh clean co2 from somewere as i presume they must be. plants need co2 to grow so if they arent getting much now you will need to fix it so they dont die if the 9ft squre place is a room ,is there a vent? anyway to answer you questoin yes you will need ventalatoin from some source.Be safe the postman.

the room is not enclosed, it is in the basement of my house, so its a lil cool, temp is b/t 68-78 degrees w/ the light, 3 sided area with a white shower curtain i am using to reflect the light back into the room w/ is sorrounded in mylar...i leave the curtain open during the day and closed at night w/ a 3 in. gap for a lil fresh air, the temp changes when the heater/ac comes on in the basement so i am assuming there is good ventilation...any advice would be appreciated

well, CO2 couldn't hurt... :greenthumb:
other than that just make sure you are getting good airflow. I would suggest some type of active system (i.e. fan) you don't need much since your temps are in line, but fresh air is always good.

i got a small 9 in. fan, u think i should go with something a lil better...or maybe even 2, one blowing in and one blowing out?

i don't understand all that entails, i went to a grow shop and they were trying to sell me all these expensive air cooling reflectors, fans, etc....What would it cost and what does an inline fan entail: I know there is some duct work involved but i'm confused...help about the details of an inline fan and a good place to purchase hopefully the full system would be nice...thanks

right now i'm just using a 20in. stationary fan that keeps the temps. b/t 70-74 at the level of the seedlings, hope i can get away with this for the whole grow
