Hey guys first post, ive lurked for a while and am ready to start posting heh. So ive built a bodom box (http://boards.cannabis.com/growroom-setup/80747-how-rubbermaid-tub-growbox.html) , based on bodomchildrenof's great ideas and tuts. So i will be doing lst and i understand how to do all that. Im just confused on what kind of nutrients to buy, like what to buy and when to add it and all that, i just dont understand, maby im making it harder than it is heh. Also, what size pot am i going to need for the final female plant. I have three little green plastic pots i bought, gonna germinate, then keep them in that, and hopefully get a female out of one of em. Any help or forwarnings appreciated heh.:greenthumb:

you want to start with a nutrient that is either balanced, like 10-10-10 or 20-20-20 or, barring that, something with a good nitrogen content, like 15-10-10. Later you'll want to switch to something with more phosphates.

don't start using nutes until the plants have at least got some side branching going, and even then only at 1/8 strength at most. You're going to gradually build them up.

I did the same style growbox, and my final pot size is 3.5gallons. I think it'll be sufficient. you really want something anywhere from 3 to 5 gallons, although a 5 gallon pot wouldn't have fit easily in my setup.

hope that helps, and good luck with your grow!

I think it's 1foot=1gallon for pots.

Cool so i start out with somthing like 15-10-10 for vegetive growth, and then somthing else for flowering? And following the directions for the nutes, i read that you should put a little less in than the directions say to put in, so you dont get nute burn, is this true? Thanks for the quick awnsers.

start with a lot less than what the directions say. figure out the formula that they give you for a normal dose, as if you're watering healthy robust plants. then divide the amount of fertilizer by eight and that's how much you should start out adding.

you can use just about anything, but there's a few guidelines to stick to.

Don't use miracle grow, or any other fertilizer infused soil, unless it's organic. Organic soils work really well.

make sure that the soil drains well - you may want to fill the bottom of the pot with sand or pebbles to help it.

don't use soil from outside off the ground - you never know what sorts of bugs you may be scooping up as well - spend a few bucks and buy a good bag of soil.

And if you can find something with worm castings, or bat guano in it, or anything along those lines - then you're really well set!
