You need to hear these bands man I can't believe you've never herd of Queens of The Stoneage. Check out these QOTSA songs-Burn The Witch, The Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret, Someones In The Wolf, Monsters in the Parasol.
And check out the Kyuss song 'The 50 Million Year Trip'.

kyuss is great man, not a huge fan of queens though.
everyone should check out colour haze though. Great stoner rock music
whoops
really really great band. i dont know anything about queens of the stone age but if you like heavier rock music(it isnt like most metal, no screaming and more psychadelic, but heavy nonetheless) then do yourself a favor and get blues for the red sun, sky valley, and ...and the circus leaves town. their first cd was ok but couldnt step to the rest

Kyuss...one of my favorite bands of all time...also one of the best concerts I've ever seen....1992 Kyuss @ The Riv in Toronto Canada only 250 people at the show awsome... if you can find their first ablum (son's of kyuss) this is also a great album. Also do search for John Garcia ( he was the singer of Kyuss), anything that he has done since Kyuss has rock just a hard and in some cases even better. enjoy

god i was wating for this thread!
queens of the stone age have been a massive influence on my musical taste, in fact they were the first band i actually went to their show back at brixton a few years ago, they pretty much insipired me to put alot more effort into drumming which has made me progress as i loved playing along to rated R!!!!
Kyuss i herd of through my brother, who loves them however ive herd alot of their stuff but im not as big of a fan as them as i am QOTSA
the gig was amazing btw :D

I'm not much of a fan of stoner rock, more stoner metal (Bongzilla, Electric Wizard, Iron Monkey, Eyehategod, etc...) but I really dig Kyuss.

qotsa do some good rock songs, too.
Listen to Avon, How to Handle a Rope, Mexicola, Go With the Flow, or Regular John for a taste. Its more like Stoner Metal than any of the other songs anyone wrote down for them here, if you're into that stuff. Its not just slow pretty stuff like people rattled off. They have a lot of different styles. That's what was great about Kyuss, too, imo. They weren't one sound or one effects pedal for their whole career.
But, yeah, qotsa are great.

QotSA is one of my favorites and I can say FOR SURE that they are my favorite band from modern times. I love how they've got that seventies vibe, yet they're so modern and they've never released a bad album.
