Thats pretty ridiculous. You'd think all of these governments would focus on the real drug problem, shit like meth and heroine. Hmmm anyway I didnt know that Vietnamese gangs were the big ol' bad drug dealers but oh well.

To be fair, these have been pretty massive growing operations, i read about one with some 7000 plants in about 4 houses, which no doubt went into funding some sort of organised crime. Even if growing was de-criminalised it would prevent organisations gaining funds this way which could lead to more rescources pumped into preventing trafficking and sale of more harmful drugs. Heres a little graph i found (on bbc news) from an article discussing the benefits of re-classifying drugs due to thier harm. Of course this would never happen as alcohol would most likely have to be deemed a Class A drug, which blatantly will never happen.

Damn I heard about the heroin decrease but I had no idea that growing had gotten so out of control. Damn 7000 plants is some massive shit you know? All and all I bet with suck a large op going on the bust is probably didn't set them that far back. I bet as the last plant was being loaded up 25 more were being set up. I'm just saying with all the money it costs for upkeep you know they more than likely have the funds to set up shop.
