zoloft and weed

the other day my doctor said hes gonna perscribe me zoloft for depression. he told me i shouldnt smoke weed while on it. i was trying to find something online about mixing the 2, but i couldnt find anything factual, mostly ppls opinions. i know i cant die from weed but i dont wanna have a bad high when i smoke while im on that other shit.

so my question, do any of you take zoloft? and if u do does it work badly with weed? just tryin to take some precautions. im gona smoke as much as possible before i go fill the prescription tomorrow anyways :stoned: . i just dont wanna lose mary...

You can smoke weed on it. I know people who have. My friend took 100mg daily, and he smoked daily too.

I don't want to encourage you to smoke weed while on Zoloft, but I did with no bad effects.

I was on Zoloft for a year, stopped, and now take 5-HTP which is available over-the-counter. Unless you have really bad symptoms or problems, I'd recommend trying 5-HTP for a while before starting with the Rx for Zoloft, or similar drugs. 5-HTP is a precursor to serotonin, and helps the body create it naturally.

You can stop taking 5-HTP without the withdrawal symptoms that many people get when suddenly quitting SSRI's.

It's just my opinon, based on my experience. I'm not a doctor or healthcare professional. Others have had similar experiences with SSRI's and 5-HTP.

None of my bipolar meds ever effect my smoking (my therapist said they would, she said they would make me uber depressed if I smoked, the worst i had was severe panic attacks but I dont think its from the meds) so i assume Zoloft wouldnt do anything. Could be wrong though. Try it and find out.

i took zoloft and smoked and i passed out and when i woke up i puked up a ton of clear shit, looked like water.
