Omega Garden?
Hello, this is my first post here so none of you know me... but anyways I am a medical patient looking to grow NL5XHaze in a SOG. I am not sure if I want to go with Ebb& Flow trays with lava rocks, Aeroponics (with a modified commercial unit), or this

I would run all of the above setups under 2 1k Hotilux HPS bulbs. There will be CO2 enrichment as well. Honestly I am learning towards trying this Omega garden thing. The bulbs will be cooled with the air coming from a ducted wall mount A/C. But before I jump I want to know if anyone has had any success with these things. With the investment being put into my grow I can't afford to miss a crop. An Aero or Ebb & Flow wouldn't be much of a problem,.. I've personally enjoy prior success with those types.
Well opinions from you guys would be sinceerly apreciated.

medical grow with 2 1000 watters
The low numbers 30 oz to 60 oz every two months .
You must be growing some bad seed if it takes you a 1/2 oz to 1.2 oz a day.
Now the omega system has only one bad thing going for it in the U.S.A. the total plant count. You will need clones of a mother to supply this unit.
Remembe in the US its 99 plants to meet the federal law of comercial growing. Been there done that,,,,,86 plants at the time of the bust, and I now have a permit.
Its well worth the money for a comercial unit, along with the possibility of going to a federal jail. Nah no thanks
A simple flood and drain system gravity drain, less problems, less clones.
Keep under the federal limit and enjoy life

personally that unit is way to much money for what it produces. This unit will grow small shrub like plants, which will be very hard to maintain in a unit like this, if you willing to spend out 5 grand u might as well by a very nice aeroponic sytems that will grow 10-20 plants and you will get about 10 times the yeild just because the plants will grow bigger with less maintance. this unit alows plants to get about 1 1/2 feet tall, when we know the average size of a plant is 3 feet, u will be flowering much earlier producing less yeilds, and potency may be effected. I belive the max amount of flowering females you are allowed to have by law under a medicinal license is somewhere around 3, so 99 plants would get you arrested, but its not like many people even have the license for 3 and in some states ur not allowed to have any, so either way ur looking for trouble, in most states its not the amount of plants but the wieght of the plants. If its illegal to start with, you might want to keep it low on numbers just because its alot easier to convince someone its for yourself when 3 plants is allowed in other states, but if you growing over 5 plants its going to be hard to convince anyone your not selling it for profit. And if done right 3 plants can yeild you about a 1/2lb which is plenty. If you want to grow alot of plants illegally to make a profit, this system will be you worst bet just because of its high price and unefficiency, 2000wtts to 100 plants(small, forced flowered plants) imo ur better off with a system that allows you to grow way less plants, way bigger plants, cheaper, more yeilding, grown to full maturation.

Omega Garden?
very trick
very clever
very expensive
why reinvent the wheel when you can just fill it with plants and sell it to unsuspecting potential growers?
for less than a $2000 investment you can TOTALLY trick out a Homebox XL with all the gadgets, lights, carbon, exhaust, climate controller, pots, coco.... and supply yo self n yo friends just fine.

I appreciate the input you three have provided thus far.
oldsanclem:
Ya the Federal sentencing guidelines which are for grows of 100 plants or definitely were a consideration for me. And after viewing grow threads for these systems on ICmag and AN forums I decided that most growers weren't successful with these damn things anyways. Plus it seems that if you get busted with one of these things even if it's a small grow it guarantee's media publicity which turns into the prosecutors not giving any leeway whatsoever.
JackDaWack:
I guess these damn things would be good for growing LowRyder... lol... I can safely grow 99 plants in my locale. In California Dr's can reccommend a number of plants that a patient can grow (up to 99) and the local and state law enforcement can do squat. Without a specific plant recommendation then a patient must adhere to their counties guidelines which can range from 6 plants to 48 or a specific canopy size. Since I've been an on and off again patient with a particular Doc since 1999 I can get the 99 plant recommendation no problems. It also helps that I have infact tried other treatments which have failed. Since I can go 99 legally it only makes sense to grow my limited number of plants big. It seems like a lot of people try to get a yield per their lighting system gr/watts. Since I don't need to keep the electricity bill down to avoid detection (which is mostly paranoia anyways since it take more that legally purchased electricity to get a search warrant) I can go with more bigger lights for plants in bigger containers. Anyways I'm covered legally for 99 plants.
stinkyattic:
Why use a homebox when I can spend 5K pimping out a whole room?
But yeah basically a marketing gimmick... if I were growing basil then maybe it would be ok...
once again thanks for the replies guys I appreciate it.

Omega Garden?
whats up bro if you are looking for a vertical system I have the hands down best vertcal system on the market for less than half the cost of the omega including shipping. I have a thread going in the indoor section U.G.U's vertcal garden check it out, and that is only 2/3 of a system and I will pull between 5-6lb off 2k. any ways I probaly shouldn't be solicating but the omega is defanatly not the way to go. I can build them to fit any sq ft any number of plants totally custom for you. here is a pic of the High Yield tower these are the models for sale I wont say a price email me for more details [email protected]. the best thing about these systems are you can grow huge plants full size, that you would have in 2 gal buckets on the floor. I am a medical patient as well and most the sytems out are for 150 or more plants I can make a vert system with as few as 24 up to 200 plant sites they come in 3 or 4 tower configuration with 3,4 or 5 shelves everything is fully ajustable you can have the plants as far from the light as you want they come with casters so you can move them very easy. let me know what you think.

Dreaming about your grow is good and all but doesn't get the job done. Save your big bucks for quality genetics and light bulbs and make a simple system out of cinder blocks, some planks of wood, plastic sheeting to protect the room and a few sheets of plywood, quartered and painted white for mobile/interior walls.

Omegas seem to be more trouble than they're worth. The folks I know using them have problems with-
- Regulating watering ( and keeping nute from running down over plants/lamp tube)
-Pegging height for max yeild w/o f&^%ing up- window is small. Bushmaster helps.I assume you understand that we have options on your time,
And we will ditch you in the harbour if we must-
But if it all works out nicely,
You\'ll get the bonus you deserve
From doctors we trust.
