i was recently arrested for marajuana poss. and paraphnela. i was wondering if i woud need a lawyer? also, if anyone knows what the penelities would be please let me know.

I suggest getting a laywer, DO NOT REPERESENT yourself you will end up getting your ass chewed. How much did you get busted with. Depending on the laywer/judge you get you might just do some community service/fines to anywhere to a few months in jail. Also would help if you have a clean pass

thanks for the post xtc, i only had a few grams and a small pipe. when i checked the local laws on the norml web site it said, first offence min. $250 fine max. 1year jail time., however i had a small amount and was very coopertive with the police. any other comments would be helpfull.

I am not from tennessee but think about this. Tell them you use the marijuana for a medical reason. If you can't stay off smoke either tell them, they possibly could send to rehab for a while. They will probably make you piss every month. If you cant keep from getting busted a year clean might help. Lawyers will drag your case on and on for more money but would be a smart idea. The idea of locking someone who is addicted to drugs is barbaric.

well...i went to court today. they told me to get a lawer, and then set another court date. i called a lawer to get some info and he told me he might be able to get it droped because i did not recive a ticket when i was pulled over. if not, he said i will probably get probation and a $500 fine($350 for the pot and $150 for the pipe). he also said to quit smoking for a while.

There 24 countys that don't hit you hard so look your county up man most of them are west side of Tn. the
judges have been kick them out.. good luck
they say (judges) it just cost to much to do marijana cases.

i was busted in a VERY STRICT county. a suberb of a large city, and from what i've heard the suberbs are usually more strict then the city. this county is known for a**hole cops and very conserative beliefs. my friend just moved there and i was going to see his new house. otherwise i never go into that part of town. thanks for the comment though.

Could you tell exactly what happend? Was the weed in ur pockets? Howcome you got pulled over? Did they have a reason to search you? What sucks is that with probation for weed you got a 9/10 chance of random piss tests. And my friends random UA's fucking blow! I was on them for 2 years.

i was pulled over for disregarding a stop sign, which is bull s**t. the officer could smell alcohol on me and tried to interogate me, however i was of age and told him i only had a few beers, but it had been severial hours since my last drink. i agreed to a field sobrity test. when i steped out of the car the officer searched me and found a pipe and about a gram or two of pot. i was then arrested and brought to the station. once there i passed the sobrity test with flying colors, although that did not count for much to the officer who still claimed i was borderline drunk. i was only charged with poss. of pot and par. i was not even given a traffic ticket!

I'd take that shit to court. He didn't have any reason to search you.
