Poor pure-bred Buddy! I should never have gotten a pet from a breeder. The best pets I've ever had were mutts. They're healthier and more sane and balanced. My other kitty, OJ, is just a regular street tabby, and he's the most well adjusted pet you could ever want to meet.

Seven years ago when I got Buddy, I'd just lost my longtime kitty, Calico, and my beloved grandmother within a few months of one another. This was before the dogs and before I stole OJ from my neighbors. I was in deep mourning over the loss of my only pet, Calico, who was also a mutt. I was crying and feeling sorry for myself one day while surfing the Web and I happened across a breeder in Florida who sold applehead Siamese cats, which were a type of cat I'd seen a lot in Disney movies as a kid. I made the decision to get this cat impulsively and when I was not in a good emotional state to be buying anything, much less a pet.

Lesson learned. This past fall when my sister Bess was dying and Buddy was beside himself with insanity and fear because of all the hospice workers going in and out of the house, Dave said "When this is all over, you can get yourself a stuffed toy if you need grief consolation, but please, no more pure-bred pets, OK?" He was right. I'm going to adopt mutts and shelter pets from now on!
birdgirl73 Reviewed by birdgirl73 on . My cat and OCD... Well my cat was picking at his back and had a patch of fur gone the size of a freakin grapfruit... Vet said bring him in cause he probably has parasites... I did not bring him in cause he "Buddy" and his brother "Swirly" hang together and Swirly did not have the problem... I researched google and found that some cats have like OCD and clean themselves to the point of removing fur... I took a praise approach and I am happy to say Buddy's patch almost grown back in... What it seems is Buddy Rating: 5
