yeah but there are always extremes. Like people who dye their dogs pink and put sweaters on them...that kinda pisses me off.

People who do that need to have their head examined.

My old cat did that at bout the same age. Every year it'd be louder and louder. He's going deaf and can't hear how loud he is, cause he doesn't know why he's not hearing. When my cat finally went completely deaf she would scream in the middle of the night it would sound like some kid screaming, it was crazy.

Yes I think your correct here... Just because cats act independent I assume they can handle Independence but,,,not the case...

I really think my cat just wanted more attention... I always did not like when a cat constantly rubs on your legs so I would dis him cause he constantly did it... Well i think he got the idea that i did not like him,,,I pet him now when he does it and he does it less now... another thing is he was hanging out downstairs a lot now he's up here with me a lot since i pay more attention... Maybe your right on the stress but,,,I think the stress came from a lack of attention... I think spaying/neutering plays a part here too...

This is uncanny, Skink, but my very own Buddy cat, who is Siamese, is doing the same thing--compulsively pulling his fur out along his back. I took him to the vet and they checked and confirmed no parasites, no metabolic disease like diabetes. So the conclusion is that it's behavioral, and I'm trying to give him more attention and affection. They also suggested that it could be something like dry skin/allergies, but I don't want to put him on prednisone, which is what most mainstream vets recommend people give their pets but which is not great for their immune system.

One of the vets also recommended adding a little flax seed oil to his food to help give him some more beneficial fats (my Buddy is very skinny), and so we'll see if that helps. Dave believes he's suffering from neglect because the other three animals are all over me, whereas Buddy's very shy and skittish and won't come near if they're in the vicinity, and of course they always are. If the more-attention treatment doesn't improve things, I may see about finding him a new home, I hope with my parents, where he can live in a dog-free environment and get more quality human interaction and be less nervous.

awwwwww im sad now I love my kitty...he's sucha baby. He doesnt have claws in the front (not our descision mind you, when he was first born my aunt got it done and then when i was born he was given to my family) and he likes to "explore" and last year he tried to figure out what the squirrel was. Well he got to close and the squirrel chased his ass to the deck. He was missing fur from behind his legs and ears...hes stupid but hes so cute! His names Magic!
