Were the seeds dark brown? If they were, you are good to go. I like to germinate mine in a dark coffee mug with distilled water. I put it on my furnace in a day or two the seed splits. Agressive buggers sometime have a tail already out. Then I place it in a cup with a few granuales of dirt over it. Water well. Don't let dry out.

Usually when you find a few beans in a good bag, it may have that the plant was pollinated late in flowering. You will probably have a better chance of that plant being a female...Having said that you will have a more likely have a female with hermie traits.

Shriveled, huh? May still get something, never know.
