You need to leave your carpet and hit the pavement my stoney friend. Doing stuff on the carptet, then going on actual pavement every so often isn't going to get you anywhere. Falling is part of learning how to skate. By the sounds of it, you're afraid of hurting yourself.

That comes with learning how to skate though bro. You will fall, no matter how long you stay on the rug.

I used to skate, but gave it up in 1999. I rolled my ankle one too many times and my knees were hurting. It was too hard on me, so I said fuck it. It isn't worth it.

I was good at pop-shove its, heelflips, kickflips, and that was about it. I was never into it hardcore, but you have to learn a moving ollie to know how to do any of them, so just keep practicing.
