A FURIOUS man chopped off his penis to stop his family arguing.

It took Aleksander Ristic two blows with an axe to sever the organ while relatives fought about his wife's medical bills.

Ristic, 30, said: 'I grabbed the axe and waved it about. When they ignored me, I just flipped out and went outside and laid my penis on the stump of a tree.

'I didn't manage to cut it off completely at first so I had to hit it again.

'The pain was phenomenal and I regretted it the moment I saw what I had done.'

Medics who re-attached Ristic's penis in Kragujevac, Serbia, said it would work as normal.

He may be prosecuted as suicide is a crime in Serbia and the police are investigating the events leading up to the self mutilation.

By the way, why is suicide a crime in Serbia? If somebody successfully carries out the crime, you can't punish them, and if somebody tries to but fails, they need psychological help desperately and putting them in a prison cell is only going to exacerbate the problem.
