Wiretaps are used more in the movies than they are in real life. They are hard to get a judge to grant them, it takes a lot on man hours to do a wiretap and there are strict guidelines as to what they can listen to and not (patriot act not withstanding). Unless you are Pablo Escabar or mobbed up, that was probably BS.

Run in with the FBI I was at my friends house for spring break and a guy there called a guy we know to get some bud and talked about it and later we learned that that call was being monitored by the feds and the person he was with was on 6 bars and was being chased by 18 cops going 125 running away and he hit a cop car and kept going and he got 25 years... sucks dude.
