skink, see ifyou can figure out how to take care of this..

stpuid error... started coming up (upon restart) after i used ccleaner, spybot and regseeker... (just telling you when the errors started) i did save a restore point i can go back if i have to... but i'd rather not, cuz that was teh first actual clean up of the computer and removing alot of the bs made it run even better...

so see if you can fix it, or figure out what to do...

Well, I did some pretty heavy searching for you, and called a couple of contacts I have at HP. Here is what I found out.

Most likely during the process of your spyware cleaning, you removed the program that needs to start. You have two options:

Option 1: Disable the software from the Start Up programs:
    1. Click Start, and then Run 2. In the command box, type msconfig; and click OK. 3. Click Startup. 4. Uncheck all the programs except RECGUARD, KBD, PCHBUTTON (and any Anti-Virus software you have installed) 5. Click OK 6. Restart the system If you see a message "System Configuration Utility You are using the selective startup for troubleshooting your system", check the option and click OK. This occurs if you are using the Selective startup option but not using the normal startup to reduce the number of startup programs.

    Option 2: Non-Destructive Recovery:

    1. Click Start, All Programs, PC Recovery Tools, and then HP PC System Recovery. 2. A dialog appears prompting you to confirm your choice. Click Yes to start system Recovery.

Go through all of the options to reinstall the OS.

I noticed that you have a message saying some startup programs were blocked, click that balloon and see if the program it blocked was the on thats giving you errors. If it is, just enable it and you should be good to go. You can also contact HP here: Contact HP - Online chat options

Oh wait, was this thread only directed to skink? If so, sorry for butting in, but there are other guys here who work in IT as well..
