I've got a Coconut/Bamboo bong (named Gilligan) that is the favorite among my pieces, actually, this(only modified so that it uses a glass slide instead of that little bowl you see). When i first got it, the taste was glorious, kind of like cinnamon, from the bamboo. After being well used for about a year, the scent of old pot/bongwater is pretty worked into the wood, and i can't seem to get it out. I've washed it out several times, even used some home-made formula 420 (mostly rubbing alcohol and salt) which resulted in an amazing amount of shit coming out of bong that i thought was fairly clean, but the smell remains. Anyone know of a way to get that clean bamboo/cinnamonny taste back?

I vote that you buy a bottle of kahlua, cover the slide, pour the booze in, and let it sit for a day or two.

If that doesn't work, you might be better off getting a piece that won't smell permanantly after a years use even after good cleaning. Not trying to rag on you or your piece, that thing looks pretty cool but anything that's even somewhat absorbant shouldn't be used as a smoking device.

thats an ultra cool bong, but wood stains and i doubt that you could get the smell out in a non toxic way if the 420 formula stuff didnt work. I say you gotta get a new bong or deal with the smell.
