Need help convincing mom to leave somewhere for spring break.

I kinda fucked up with the title, its supposed to say "Need help convincing my mom that i can go somewhere for spring break"

During spring break, i plan on going to one of my friend's "farm house" for maybe a day or two, but shes kinda sketchy on the idea that no parents are going to be there. She straight up asked me if there is going to be any drinking involved and i said "No, i dont drink" which is the truth, but then she asked the follow up question "Are there going to be other things?" (like weed or shrooms, which i do intend on doing) I replied "Most probably not" and she says "What do you mean most probably not?" Then i said that no i wouldnt be doing those kind of things.

Now what i need help with is trying to convince my mom that i can make smart decisions by myself, and that she should trust me even though shes not around me.

Heres some things to keep in mind; Im 17, the youngest of 3, i have a very clean record with my parents and the cops, the farm house is only 45 mins away, you lose reception 15 mins in, and im her favorite son (not trying to sound like a D-Bag). also she thinks that ive only smoked weed 3 or 4 times.

You've gotta show her that you can be trusted. Do as others said, help about the house and keep ya nose clean!

    Peace

    Buddy

That's rough. Don't know if this advice comes too late or not, but I agree. Be responsible, don't pester her about it, and then make your case while she is in a good mood, and has time to listen. Reassure her that it is only for a day or two, there will be only (2? 3?) people there. Tell her there will be no alcohol and no "monkey business" and that others may have marijuana with them but that you will be responsible and abstain. Ask her to go out just for the day, if she's leery about you spending the night there.

And above all, you have to respect her wishes, even if it's unfair. You're not 18 and she's still in charge.

I had very strict parents growing up and I know this would not have flown with them, either, so I understand where you're coming from. But I think this technique is the best; you are telling the truth, and asking for her trust, but you are willing to compromise if necessary.

It's the mature thing to do.

Ha ha! So true. On a Friday or Saturday night when I was a teenager, that's when my folks got all pissed up, so after 3 or 4 drinks I used to go ask my dad for $20. I always got it when he was drinking. I guess alcohol was good for one thing.

    Or go with Skink's idea.

I don't have any advice though. Just don't lie to her and she has no reason not to trust you. Or just slap her in the face with your penis.
