depends on if you can't pull over for lack of room.

if you try to ditch a cop, you will get stuck with evasion charges.

The policy to charge with evasion is different with each police department. Ive only have access to the local police department lawbook and it states that if a driver fails to yield after 1 mile, then evasion charges should be considered, but only as a aggravating factor.

You MUST do three things...

1 Drive at the speed limit,not in an erratic manner and make no moves like you are hiding or throwing anything out of the car.

2 Let the cop know that you see him, acknowalge the fact he is lighting you up.

3 Pull over at the FIRST well lit,safe,place in plain view of the cop and any witeness you can find.(Busy well lit corner,convinince store, gas station.)

It is also good to tell the cop that you heard about people impersonating LEO's and you wanted to make sure he was a REAL cop!

i guess i'd say: don't run. especially in a car. if they got your license plates you're already hosed anyway. running can be very bad.
