I have no doubt he's telling the truth. Dogs fail far more often then you'd think. If the dude had a cat recently in his car, that could distract the dog enough to where he doesn't care about finding weed anymore. Or even if there was road kill within a mile or so of the car, the dog may not give a fuck about finding weed.
