I should be in JAIL right now!
Who knows, that K-9 could have still been in training. I believe it totally. When I was in high school they would bring them to the school to train, by doing locker searches. I know of several times them missing ganja (once I know it was a quarter or thereabouts).....but then they would find a lighter or something, lol....
You got lucky and let that be a lesson.

one hell of a story. but if I understand correctly, ur rights were violated there. the dogs r a search and you did not give consent. those dogs should be called in on a count of probable cause only. not sure but pretty sure! anyway great story and have fun cleaning ur car

I'm pretty sure he knew that I was trying to hide something... he just said before the dog came, If this dog doesn't hit on your car you're free to go. If he had, I'd be in jail....
What a buzz kill, today...
I'm just glad I'm a free man right now... You take freedom for grante until somebody threatens it...
I just couldn't believe that dog spared me...I thank that dog!
For a ton of lessions. my car is free of drugs now and is clean...
I get to watch the Dallas Mavericks play basketball tonite, because i'm not in jail.

Not to steal your thread, but this reminds me of an experience I had with the K-9 Unit one night..
So yea I was pretty baked already and had just finished boxing my car with a few friends not to mention a couple bags I had in there as well. Anyway I'm on my way home and I decide to stop at the convenient store for some coffee. So I'm in there pretty blazed makin some brew and of course a cop walks in probably needing some coffee for his late night shift. Whatever, so I'm pretty sketched out but play it cool and get outside as fast as possible.
Lucky me.. I'm outside gettin into my car and I hear a dog barking.. I don't think much of it at first, but the sound is becoming increasingly more excited and when I see where it's comin from I realize the squad car that the cop in the 7-11 came in is actually part of the K-9 Unit.. you know, with the open caged windows and all that... So yea I was shittin my pants and booked as fast as I could...
Now I dunno how all that stuff really works but I know those dogs are trained very well and do not just bark to be friendly or because they see someone. They bark with a purpose and that is to alert their master of whatever it is and in this case it would have been the smoke coming out of my car and the bags in it.
But yea I always wonder had the cop actually come outside and seen his dog barking in my direction what he would have done. I'm pretty sure the pig coulda gotten away with probable cause on somethin like that...
Haha still makes me sick thinkin about it but yea fun story.

i love how people on these boards think they know their law. Ttaking a k9 around a closed car is not considered a search, and when the dog barks, sniffs, or does anything hinting that there's weed in the car, that gives the cops "probable cause", which means they have the right to search your car front to back side to side.
You lucked out man, let this be a lesson to you and don't get yourself in this situation again, you may not be so lucky next time.
